I need to go back and finish season 3. Not sure what happened, but I just stopped watching it for some reason.

So without going through the previous pages - is this worth a watch?

I'd say so. I think it's horrendously underlooked in general.

1st season starts well, slows down a fair bit then picks up in the last 2-3 episodes.
2nd season is fairly consistent then has an excellent ending.
I need to finish season 3 though.

Only 10-12 eps a season so it's not a massive commitment either.

Cool, I'll have to see if I can find the episodes on the High Seas (geddit?)

Final Season starts tonight in the US & Monday on Amazon UK.

Up to date with Vikings now, which I would recommend watching, going to start on this after I have watched The Last Kingdom BBC series.

I haven't watched much on my prime subscription yet so need more recommendations

I never finished the last season, so need to go back and catch up. But looking forward to more of this and seeing how they wrap it all up.

I had no idea that Jannes Eiselen (Dufresne in Black Sails) had dropped out of season 2 because of illness and passed away in September 2016



36 is no age. Horrendous

I knew he had brain cancer and had to be recast for season 2 but didn't know he had passed away.
He was excellent in season 1 and was one of my favourite characters by the end, but the new actor in s2 just wasn't as good and then they sort of ruined the chacter after that.

Just watched the latest episode (s04e03)

Wow! I was not expecting that scene with Blackbeard to play like. I was certain they'd find a way out. What a horrible way to go.

Definitely one of the best episodes this show has done and that's saying something.

It's all over

Very late to the party, but I have finished binge watching Black Sails. Thoroughly enjoyed it overall and was pleased how characters like Silver and Rackham went from slightly annoying and unlikeable at the start to my favourite characters by the end. Anne Bonny was awesome as well.

Eleanor was awful and I wish they had either not bothered or killed her off a long time before, pretty but a dreadful actress and at no point convinced as a badass lady that could stand up to the pirates (or the English!).

Vane was great although his voice was slightly annoying. He was another character that got better and better as the series went on.

I didn’t even notice that they recast Dufresne until I just read it in this thread. That probably explains why I found him off-putting later on and was so glad when Silver finished him off.

The ending was well done, a nice battle and then retiring Flint to Savannah with Thomas.

A good show and it makes me want to play Assassins Creed Black Flag again.
