Been mulling over an idea for a Bloodborne print/poster thing today. Not that I have time to do it at the moment.

Ludwig? :D

Another one to add to the list of not very good boss fights. :D Same issues as My love, daughter of cosmos. Cheap charge move that is so wide with such a short tell its just bullshit. :D Jumping up in the air and falling attacks that can hit you even when running away and often when rolling. :D Struggled to decide whether locking on was good or not. In the end I ended up having to just because not locking on meant I could hardly ever see him. Early on I tried parrying but strawberry float knows if I got the timing wrong or just couldn't parry those moves. So after a few attempts of that I gave with trying. I'm just a sitting duck doing that. It could reach me from so far that I hardly had to time to heal. Specially as it was so aggressive. Framerate seemed to drop a lot at points. Obviously the best thing to do was get close and just hope I didn't get hit by something. A few times I managed to stun him. But sometimes only very briefly but also a couple of times proper full you can do a visceral attack now type stun. Only I never got to do a visceral attack because a) I wasn't standing in whatever place I obviously had to be b) I had no idea this was going to happen because its just a mess of me hitting a mess of things over and over. Thats my overriding impression of some of these fights. Just messy. :D Anyway. Got him to his second phase. Every single time this phase happened my character would start the fight swinging away with me pressing no buttons. Every single time after the cutscene. :D So the first time I was quickly murdered as I wondered and laughed at this games bewildering polish. :D Now I'm assuming these were the last actions I entered when the cutscene started but strawberry float me. To start a phase in a fight honestly not sure why your character is doing things is woeful. :D Never mind that I'm attacked straight away as well. :D Ignoring this bollocks. The second phase seemed much better. With some clearer attack patterns and an enemy that wasn't a giant hitbox of pain. :D That was until the giant 1 stun lock kill attack happened. So cheap. :D Despite getting a bit better at the fight it would then prove a bit of a pain to get back to this point. Particularly when the boss decides to do all the moves. and then it pretty much 1 hit killed me with its stupid falling attack that does far too much damage for something so stupidly big and erratic to avoid. Then when I finally got back the game basically gave up trying and said strawberry float it. Lets see how you deal with not being able to see a strawberry floating thing. Fortunately this proved to just the death I needed as then, presumably powered by my ever increasing salt levels I beat the bastard. Was it satisfying? Elating? Did I feel like I bested the beast and triumphed! Nah. I felt like I got good enough to just fudged it and got lucky. Much like when I faced Bob I was just glad it was over. :D

The fight had been so bad I decided to murder the severed head with my hammer regardless of anything else. :D I'm sure the lore surrounding Ludwig van Horsey is really cool but the fight was gooseberry fool. :D The lantern was placed really well and the inclusion of something that dropped vials each time was welcome. Its as if they knew farming for vials was an issue in the game at last. :D

Things improved greatly as I explored the following area which was largely a highly enjoyable section. Even if it is Dukes Archive the second. I picked it apart bit by bit. Even the boss fight against MATT the living failures was decent enough. I loved the room (big softspot for sunflowers) and whilst it seemed very much like the earlier horde type fight (I think this was deliberate) it did enough that was different. The bit when they call forth the cosmic powers of comets or whatever. :D I probably would have got them on my first attempt but one attack knocked me into a place that shoved the camera up my arse. :D My only complaint would be that it would be good to have had a different design between those that did melee attacks and those that did ranged and that for some reason it felt very slow. I dunno if it was the framerate again but it just never felt as snappy as I thought it should. Then after defeating them I headed back and looked for a few secrets in the cells and stuff. Also..... that lift. :D

I find it so hard to read your posts that I just skip to the last line and try to work out what you've done from there

Are you in the game? :D

Errr.... I'm not exactly sure where the line is drawn between great ones and not so great ones. Only one I can think of is my love, the daughter of the cosmos. Or Spidertwat. There was the guy just sitting outside by Spidertwat. Unless Amygaga counts. Was Bob a great one? He was a great twat for sure.

I shall investigate.

Been busy over the last week so not been about to get stuck in but I did go through my inventory to investigate. Couldn't see anything to help with the Mother Brain situation. Hopefully play a bit more soon. :D

So I've returned. :D

Took me a mo to remember whats what and the small gap has done nothing to help me understand the Hexxy lore....
Hexx wrote:If you say anything mean about the next boss I shall bitch slap you so hard your mum's womb will feel it.

GOOD NEWS! :D The fight was good and I beat corpse/doll/lady hunter first time and went on to the fishing resort. Lovely. This was all fine apart from the giant shark/fish guys. I went down the well. I regret it. :D Given the size and power of them they are too quick imo. The amount of times one would charge past me only to still be facing me was absurd. :D One of these was placed right before a lantern and it was so annoying. I heard a frenzy doll thing singing when down the well. :D Yay. The cheap mechanic will return. :D At some point I got the key for the cell and went back. To be attacked by a phantom of the guy in the cell. I defeated it and then we had a chat. I decided not to kill him. I could have done but I thought it would be a waste. The other guy died. Some bell was ringing.

Explored the caves which was full of barnacle baddies. Eventually I found another boss. Orphaned Cosplayer. Well.............. strawberry float. :D This is where my session ended. Because after however many attempts it was I ran out of vials again. So its back to farming for me. :D :D :D I'm so strawberry floating fed up with this game. All I wanted was to carry on with the fight because (for the most part) it was really cool and I was gitting gud. Made it to the second phase. Then the lightening bollocks which is complete BS and along with the red area attacks (which are bigger then the red area) have strawberry floated over what could have been a great boss fight. We had been exchanging blows, with me parrying and backstabbing. It was good. But then they chucked the cheap moves at me. I got close though. Beating him didnt feel far away. But then it happened. Just 5 vials appeared. So I stopped.

So strawberry floating fed up with this. :D

Last boss! (Although you've missed an optional one - but sounds like you've had some NPC issues). And sooooo good if you know the lore.

Glad you liked Lady Maria - she's one of the best "pure" bosses that's not a huge monster.

I don't know why you've having such trouble with vials by this point - equip runs and/or buy some?

Kos is one of the hardest bosses in the game (DLC included) because his placenta weapon is so wide.

Most of my attempts looked like this

But then this happened! (I am not a good Bloodborne player as this video shows :D)

Big tip = the area is alot bigger than you might think - go out to sea a bit :D

I had one go at that boss and stopped. Was a bit burned out on it then. I did the other bosses though. Parried the hell out of the woman in the clock tower.

Ad7 wrote:I had one go at that boss and stopped.

Wait. What? You've not beaten him. After all your stick. Git gud scrub.
Hexx wrote:Glad you liked Lady Maria - she's one of the best "pure" bosses that's not a huge monster.

Twas good. Think I prefered man on top of snowy castle though. He was a bit of a dick though if I remember properly.
Hexx wrote:I don't know why you've having such trouble with vials by this point - equip runs and/or buy some?

Wish I knew. I've bought plenty over the course of the game. Most of my fights with the Orphaned Cosplayer are long. Nothing like your first vid. In one I actually reached 0 vials which rarely happens. When you use 10+ a go you get through them quickly. I really don't get how this wasnt more of an issue for other people.
Hexx wrote:And sooooo good if you know the lore.

Well its obvious there is an alien god in the sea. That somehow its polluting/mutating/being used by the locals. So the Cosplayer is probably a new born of it. At first I thought it was Bob. Poor angry Cosplayer is Orphaned so the alien god has probably died. Possibly because the locals have been harvesting it. This is what turns them into barnacle baddies. Then this gets mixed in with the "normal" blood stuff and all the gooseberry fools happen.

Maybe. :D
