Ah I've already given up mate, went and beat Gherwin so cba running back through the game to reach the DLC only to fight tougher bosses on NG+. Onto Horizon now, nice and easy!

Another absolute banana split of a boss down.
Going by the guide I'm looking at, this was the last significant roadblock to getting platinum on this. The other stuff is still hard, but easier compared to that awful cursed defiled chalice dungeon.
