Bloodborne - The Nightly Hunt begins... (The Old Hunters DLC out Tuesday!)

So this has been getting high review scores, but what's the honest consensus here about it?

I fancy giving it a go, but I'm totally new to the Dark Souls/Demon Souls scene so am a bit intimidated by their rock-hard reputation. Also not sure about the faux-Victorian era styling (is that right?), not sure if I'd better suited to the classic Knights and goblins of the other games (I'm a sucker for medieval gooseberry fool).

Didn't like the souls games.

I just cannot beat Rom. No matter what I do the shitty, strawberry floating gooseberry fool strawberry floats form the sky get me. Some times they do, sometimes they don't, there's no strawberry floating pattern.

And the strawberry floating bells don't work and when they do some strawberry floating dipshit who has no idea how to play the game dies straight away.

How far in is this rom?

Don't worry, the Cairnhurst boss is working me just as hard as Rom is everyone else. And Blood will protect against guns in PvP or vs hunters.

This game is broken as gooseberry fool. Crashing to main menu because it can't connect. DS II had these same problems. Never buying a From game on launch again.

Another reason why the bells are shite. With the summon signs you could put them outside the boss door and there was a high chance the person you were summoning had fought the boss before and knew what they were doing. Now there's a much higher chance that you're summoning someone who hasn't even done the level before.

Got as far as beating that witch and VA. It's night time permanently now, and there's other Hunters about. I cheesed one that was just outside the Cathedral Ward by ducking in and out of the safe area, and then I went on a farming run that I intended to finish at the light where I killed FG and there was another one there too. strawberry floaters.
Anyway, I legged it from him, cashed in the Echoes using another warp and then went back and killed him too.

Maybe a silly question: should I use the Coldblood I've got?
I've been hoarding it all, but if they're not needed for any 'secret' thing later, I'd like to know as then I can level up quite a bit I'd imagine.

I generally hoarde them for emergencies but there's no downside to popping them if you think you've got enough for levels.
