Bluetooth Speaker/Sound Bar?

Hey guys, I've found myself listening to a lot of music and podcasts at home recently (haha) so I'm basically looking for a mains speaker that has the capability for me to play back audio wirelessly from my phone.

I can only seem to find portable Bluetooth speakers with rechargeable batteries which I do not want so I just wondered if anybody knew of something that fit my specifications.

JBL boombox thing plugs in and its meant to be good

You can turn it off while not using it if you're worried about privacy.

Sonos One SL? It's the same as the Sonos One that I've got, but without Alexa. Sound quality is brilliant for the price.

They dont listen when not in use.

Alexa has effectively 2 computers in it, one is tiny and can only under stand the wake work "alexa", "amazon," or "computer" depending on which you set and the word is processed locally, when you say the word it boots the other computer up that listens to the rest of the request and that is cloud processed.

So yeah it will catch the off thing you say "if" it detects the wake work by accident but it doesnt listen the whole time.

They are literally hard wired to be illuminated when listen as well making all the "it recorded my bank details without me knowning" stuff basically impossible if you arent a mong as the strawberry floater is lit up blue if it is listening. I also have it "plink" on activation so you can hear when it has activated and is now listening.

You can also mute the mic and use it as a bluetooth only speaker or use the button on top asl stuff in a sort of push to talk mode, using that option comes with complimentary tin foil hat.

Aside form the paranoia, the latest echoes have decent speakers and a cheap so make a decent option for what you are looking for.

So I did end up getting an echo in the end, but I was just wondering for anyone else who has one

Is there a way to stream audio via Bluetooth from any app? I use pocket casts for my podcasts and would quite enjoy playing them on it

Enable the pocket casts skill. You then just say “Alexa, ask pocketcasts to play” and it will resume whatever you where playing.

You can also pair your phone, tablet, whatever you want to play from within the Alexa app to allow you Bluetooth audio to your echo.
