I thought Skyfall was good but large parts of it didn't feel like a Bond movie. I think the best bit of it for me was the select committee bit. One it got to Skyfall it felt like a different franchise.

I just find Craig too bloody miserable as Bond and the current films just feel too grim. I felt the early Brosnan films got the balance about right in terms of realism and OTT stunts.

If Blofeld was a woman you just know they would have named her something like Blohard.

Yeah, I agree. I honestly think Goldeneye is the best Bond film, and not because of the game. It has that perfect balance of all the 'Bond' elements - the main character played with just the right amount of bravado and cheek; a secret villain; strong supporting cast; set in evil foreign countries with a Cold War backdrop; generally realistic (perhaps not the skydive into the falling place, but I loved that moment  ); decent gadget/stunt balance; the right amount of humour ("I AM INVINCIBLE!") and serious scenes.

Pumped for this after the great reviews. Also so happy that (minor spoiler) the gun barrel is back at the start. :D

I'm not sure that qualifies as a spoiler for a James Bond film.

It's not been at the start of any of the craig films. Certain fans would consider it a spoiler.

Woman on Sky News moaning about the Monica Belucci role not being positive enough :fp:. Never ever satisfied.

Cant wait for this but the whoreage of Bond is really pretty annoying.

Went to see The Martian, three adverts loosely promoting their product/Bond. Came home, instantly Bond trailer and then a Bond CD on TV. strawberry float. Off :|

oh god, yes. Went to see Crimson Peak and had a little "WIN A TRIP TO ROME" advert before the trailers, and then after the "now for our feature presenation" screen two sodding adverts for those stupid Sony phones. Just makes me want to *not* buy one. I mean, Daniel Craig himself says that Bond isn't a good role model, so why are the advertisers still trying to leap on the bandwagon? "GET BOND'S PHONE!" :dread:

I especially like how they're really cracking down on piracy for it (signs all over my local saying special cameras will be used to spot anyone recording) as though Spectre isn't going to make all the money in the world :|

The ads contribute such a huge amount to the budget. I mean, I know Skyfall basically made a trillion dollars last time, but the film's probably still get made simply because sponsorship accounts for about half the cost.

The ads make stupid amounts of money - don't expect them to stop any time soon. I did have fun when we went to see The Martian trying to figure out which product was being advertised - it's almost always booze, watches or Sony.

Saw it last night. I enjoyed it, though there were a wide range of views amongst the group I went with. Some hated it and I think I actually liked it the most.

The film felt long, it was pretty slow and the plot is generic as strawberry float, with an Illuminati type thing going on. There were some criminal moments too.

All that said I still enjoyed it. It was beautifully shot, the action scenes were decent and there were some satisfyingly horrible moments too. As a bit of a bond fan I'm probably being generous but I'm going to give it a 7.
