I've got a ticket for Friday in Imax :wub: .

It's going to be the best thing ever
until Dune is out in the cinema.

Quantom of Solace, I can barely remember other than being bored shitless and it being about water? Skyfall looked amazing but I just hated the plot so much and Spectre had very little redeeming features despite having the great Christoph Waltz in it.

Pretty much sums up my feelings too. Casino Royale is absolutely brilliant. I actually think Quantum of Solace is alright. I'd rather watch that again than either of the other two that followed it.

Quantum of Solace has a run time of about 40 minutes. Opening titles > some gooseberry fool explodes > credits.

Was it red letter media who did the really good piss take review of QOS? Like where bond just drives up to a fence on his bike in full view and listens to the bad guys tell their secret plot. Or when he's having the massive boat chase which ends when he just drives off in the other direction and they don't follow him.

They reviewed Skyfall but I think Quantum of Solace was before their time.

I used to think Casino Royale was my favourite Craig one but having watched it recently, I'd forgotten how long it drags on for at the end once they finish the poker game and Bond gets his balls smashed in without throwing up.

Skyfall's probably the best overall.

I wonder where No Time To Die will slot in that order. I'll find out on Sunday.

After Spectre, I'm surprised anyone cares about this new one. It was bad and they've been desperately hanging on to Casino Royale's legacy for lack of any actual new or good ideas.

I'm predicting this film with have some good explosions and stunts but will have another turd of a plot with a load of awful characters.

Craig's Bond is the biggest rapist of them all and it makes me really uncomfortable.

I got dragged to Die Another Day at the cinema despite knowing it was getting terrible reviews. I think it was the part where Brosnan para-glides-surfs the tidal-wave (caused by the melting glacier) towards the camera while gurning that made me burst out laughing.

I almost wanted to do a Seinfeld:

Which poses the question, which is the bigger fall:

Goldeneye -> Die Another Day

Or

Casino Royale -> Spectre?

My opinions on the Brosnan films:

Goldeneye - stellar classic, one of my favourite films
Tomorrow Never Dies - lacks the depth of Goldeneye, but a fun action flick
The World is Not Enough - enjoyable!
Die Another Day - a foul smelling turd in film form

I'm not getting Bond wrong.

Die another day, no question.

It was so bad they pretty much had to reboot the thing.

Take yourself a particularly fetid turd and allow to fester for a few days. Using a rolling pin, roll out flat and trim to 35mm in width. Feed into a cinema reel for a viewing experience far superior to that of Die Another Day.

My only concern is that Bond might be made to look bad out of some misguided gender politics. I've got No Time for That Sh*t.

Oh no! They might have icky girls and Bond might not act like a twat. :cry: :cry: :cry:

I consider myself a fan of all eras of Bond, but even I can't get behind his 'rapey' persona - it makes for objectively uncomfortable viewing, no matter the context.

What I'm actually saying (and what you seem to have misinterpreted) is that I'd rather not see the main character diminished for the sake of an external agenda. I can't stand all this petty point scoring going on in Hollywood right now. Strong, capable women in this film, I think isn't an issue whatsoever, just so long as Bond himself doesn't become lost in his own franchise.

Quite the leap you (and possibly others) have made to make out that by holding this viewpoint, I'm somehow condoning rape, but okay.
