There's no way they can make as much money from streaming or video on demand rental than they could from a traditional full cinema release, given that this is a franchise that costs a huge amount to produce they will want to maximise their return and wait for cinema's to be back. The question is how patient can the people who wanted to see their money back from this movie be at this point

They just need to face reality that this isn't going to be the billion dollar film they want it to be as a cinema release. Even with cinemas open it's going to be a long time before they're packed like they used to be.

Must be kicking themselves missing that original November 2019 date.

The film is never going to make its money back now. I get it that MGM are literally betting the farm on it. But honestly they should take the streaming offers and run at this point. Maybe release on streaming/blu ray first and hope people attend a discounted cinema release at the inevitable much later date.

Makes me wonder also if the film is just an utter turd and they are desperate to maximise profit better word of mouth slips via streamers/pirates.

I was actually really starting to get excited about it after the last trailer as well, which is something I thought I would struggle with after how gooseberry fool Spectre was. :dread:

Ironically because of this delay, I’m not sure there will any cinemas still in business by October.

The delay is definitely benefitting the film in the sense that the longer time goes on, the more we forget how bad Spectre was.

I dunno, they could delay this until the heat death of the universe and I'm not sure I would forget!

ITV2 airs it every Bank Holiday.

It's always worth watching the opening scenes though, the Mexico City section is some of the best Bond ever.

I wouldn't go that far but it is the best part of the movie. The (faked) continuous opening shot is very impressive in particular.

Yeah, I saw it in the cinema after loving Skyfall and after the very strong start my regret just grew from there.

It was faked?! Next you'll be telling me that Gollum was CGI.

Spectre was an incredible waste of everyone's time.

Unpopular opinion but there's only one good Daniel Craig Bond film and it's Casino Royale

Spectre is the only bond film I've never made it through, and I've seen the world is not enough.

So strawberry floating boring, starts off well and then it's just craig doing his brooding looks while he stands with one hand in his pocket.

Dalton is the best bond 8-)

I think that's fairly accurate.

I liked Skyfall on first viewing but it really doesn't hold up very well.

No he was real, that's what Serkis actually looks like.

They CGI him in every other movie he does to look more like a human though.

I’ve spilt sunny delight all over your Bond films

Dalton my favourite Bond too, his two films are superb.
