So umm, anyway…this is meant to be pretty excellent. Don’t recall Bond films being so long though, about 2 hours 45 minutes.

AV Club gave it a C, The Guardian's worst film critic gave it five stars. Reaction seems mixed.

Most of them are at least 2 hours and Craig's have averaged about 2:20 I think (except for Quantum which is 76 hours long, or at least felt like it!) but yeah, that would make it the longest Bond film.

He obviously needs more time to break down the will of those strong female characters so that he can bang them!!

:dread: Oh god.

I've got a weird thing with bond films, in that we really like them (bought the posh bluray set just before skyfall came out), but I find them pretty boring for the most part. They're way too long for one thing (context), so the thought of nearly 3 hours of this doesn't make me want to go to the cinema for fear of falling asleep. We turned spectre off after an hour as we were really bored.

Spectre was a bit gooseberry fool to be fair.

I'm really not sure about this. I really like Daniel Craig as Bond but apart from Casino Royale, which I loved, I've really disliked every film since. Quantom of Solace, I can barely remember other than being bored shitless and it being about water? Skyfall looked amazing but I just hated the plot so much and Spectre had very little redeeming features despite having the great Christoph Waltz in it. But despite all that, Craig is really watchable as Bond and I can't say the reviews haven't got me interested.

2 hours 43 probably kills my motivation to going to the cinema for this though.

Yeah, they hit the jackpot straight away with Casino Royale - it's just so tightly plotted, fresh and memorable. All got a bit too introspective and ponderous after that, plus the story elements being dragged across all the films since never really worked for me.

Although Craig's good, I only really liked him in CR. He got far too gloomy after that.

Casino Royale really was fantastic, I enjoyed Skyfall but still wasn’t as good as Casino Royale. Recently picked up the 24 film collection on Blu Ray for £35 so I’ll probably watch Craig’s films before going to see No Time To Die, which will hopefully be early October.

It's like Capaldi in Dr Who, he's perfect for the part, but the scripts were gooseberry fool and it never really reached the highs it should have done.

It feels like they waste a lot of good actors on Bond. Dalton only got given two films, most of Brosnan's Bond films are bad.

Amazing opening act.

And then it's just dull.

They wanted Dalton to do more but production got delayed for 5 years due to legal issues and by the time they were ready to go again he only wanted to do 1 more movie and they wanted him to commit to more, so they moved on.

And they butchered that C joke. That felt like a nervous addition from the studio.

Casino Royale 8/10
Quantum of Solace 5/10
Skyfall 8/10
Spectre 4/10

Not Craig's fault though, much like Brosnan he's had some poor scripts.
