PostBoot from Windows Disk

So I recently got my old PC back from my parents. It's about 8 - 10 years old.
Started it up and everything was fine, All running okay, however after installing the Windows 10 Update it crashed and then told me I needed the disk to reboot.

Seen that you can do it with a USB, so loaded up one and stuck it in. But It's not giving me any help. Loaded it from the BIOS and the repair system just says it can't function. Tried to reinstall windows same response.

I've ran out of ideas. Is there a way to Factory Reset or anything directly from the BIOS?

I'm looking to replace parts, But I'd prefer to do it stages rather than one big outlay!

When you say run from usb, are you saying using an official copy of windows 10 on usb? Asfaik, you need to use an official licence now. If so, this should work providedthe computer was working happily before. I’m not sure what you mean about the bios.
