Yeah, that Turkish PSN workaround is responsible for me getting quite a few games (Ratchet, Spiderman UE, Elden Ring, Resi 2/3) at the end of last year, and greatly extendjng my backlog. Was all for about £80-90 which is not bad value.

Anyway, made a little bit of dent in the backlog and so far resisted Pokémon Legends: Arceus. And the Mario Kart DLC being on the expansion pack will save me some money there.

Also finally chalked up the second game of the year. My console tells me it took about 40 hours, but after more than 2 years Disco Elysium finally stuck and it was magnificent. One of the best games I’ve ever played, hands down. For as hard on myself as I feel like I am about my approach to playing games (jumping in and out of titles, leaving lots barely played, chasing the next one that engages me), when it works it strawberry floating works. It’s not just about the right game, it’s about the right game at the right time. When my state of mind is such that it’s not just enjoyable, but that it deeply resonates with me. There are downsides to the approach. A lot of frustration and unfulfilling half-experiences along the way, but the highs are worth it all if you can find them.

Hit the credits on New Pokémon Snap last night. Seems like there's some post-game areas and creatures to investigate but I'm going to dip in and out of it as a secondary title moving forward.

Next up is Skyward Sword.

Mario Golf Story completed and moved into pick up and play.

So I've busted my budget in one fell swoop by buying a Series X when they were available. Didn't plan on getting one (was going to wait for the mid-gen upgrade)nbut splashing out on a new place with a good 4K gaming TV made me want the extra power compared to the Series S. Should be able to claw back some cash if I sell it, thouth I must admit I'll miss the little white box. Could be one of those people that just sticks it in their spare bedroom for the odd times I play there.

Still haven't bought a game yet this year (Elden Ring was paid for last year). Not really got anything on the radar either. Will probably pick up Pokémon in November, but Zelda being delayed as moved a purchase to 2023. So now to finish BOTW finally (maybe).

Did manage to beat Spiderman and its DLC. After not playing much in February and March due to moving and a new job.
