I vote Tomahawks.

I'd be cool with that, but there'd have to be a strict ban on giving backies.

captain red dog wrote:Superb achievement, amazed how strong he was in the mountains. I honestly thought I would never see a Brit win the Tour. Of course, now the hard work starts as he inevitably will want to do it again because it's the multiple winners that are long remembered.

Is he in the Olympics though, thought he had to give it up to do the tour as its a big ask to be rested enough to compete again so soon.

No they're off to train tomorrow for it I believe  . All 4 members of the road race team that were in the tour (Wiggins, Froome, Millar, and Cav) managed to win a stage, and the only reason Stannard didn't is because he's not there, bodes very well for them

Wiggins looks like a young James Cromwell.

Congrats to him. Also for winning the TDF.

strawberry float me you are right! I tell you what, if Wiggins takes gold at the Olympics then I think that is going to be pretty close to making him our greatest ever sportsman. Tour and Olympic gold in the same year is something I never even considered. The tour alone I never thought I'd see a Brit win.

Team Sky were absolutely incredible for the tour though. Absolutely astonishing.

Does the "Tour Le Frunce" happen every single month? I swear there was just one not too long ago.

This is probably because I don't really follow road cycling but I don't understand why people keep saying they never thought they'd see a British person win it. It's every year, it doesn't seem that unlikely.

Boringly Jessica Ennis will probably win Sports Personality of the Year if she gets gold... or maybe Tom Daley. BUT if Wiggins gets Gold for the road race on Saturday then I'd really like him to get it.

He'll most likely be getting knighted sometime soon anyway, so that can be his consolation prize ;)

Jessica won't win anything that has personality in it. Wiggins got bucketful of it and what he done is far more important than some poxy gold!!

Indeed.....

But winning the accolade on personality went out years ago.

See Mark Cavendish at last years awards. He has the personality of a spoon, unless he was just having a quiet night.

Sports Personality of the Year stopped being a relevant award many years ago.

Not many awards are actually very important. Things like the Oscars are more like the cinema world championships than a general congratulations like Sports Personality is.

I would, without doubt, give it to Jessica Ennis.
