Someone spoiled this on Facebook for me. First thing I see. And I don't even know if it is a spoiler yet.

Anyway, good work GRcade, stay classy.

Had a quick browse through the reactions. 0 spoilers. If anything, expected to be spoiled here rather than Facebook.

I thought it was pretty much the perfect ending.

Very satisfied.

I cannot believe it's all over.

strawberry float YEAH BITCH! moment when Marie warns Skyler that Walt's back in town. Camera pans, Walt was there all along.

strawberry float YEAH BITCH! moment when Jessie breaks Todd's neck. :datass:

strawberry float YEAH BITCH! moment when Walt reveals to Lydia that she's been drinking Ricin. I completely forget all about the ricin as I was so bloody engrossed with the episode. It was a very tense episode.

Magnificent TV. I don't think there was one single bad episode (FYI Mori, I like Fly too), the quality is always brilliant. Breaking Bad, in my books is... The Number One TV Series Ever, and it would take something very special to knock that title off Breaking Bad and I don't think we will see something like that for many years to come.

I'm waiting for the bluray complete set and sit down with my wife, who's a BB virgin and try to get her hooked to it like a meth user would for crystal meth.

Well that was amazing. I feel I need to watch season 5 all over again, it was fantastic all the way through.

A fitting and brilliant end. Very happy Jesse finally got away, now I can imagine him breaking free and starting a new life somewhere

Massive spoilers in the box below

Vince Gilligan is a Lost superfan confirmed :datass:

Very well rounded end to the show but I felt slightly disappointed that it was all too predictable. Nevertheless some brilliant scenes and a fitting ending.

Oh yeah... One question...

what is the significant of Walt leaving his watch on the pay phone?

Vince Gilligan explained it on Talking Bad -

There's the practical reason and the "arty" reason.

Practical - When they shot the flash-forward teaser from the beginning of Season 5's first episode (shot a year before these ones), Walt wasn't wearing a watch in the diner. So they partly did it just to keep continuity.

The "arty" reason is that Jesse gave him that watch on his 51st birthday and now with all the history between them along with him knowing it's all coming to an end, he doesn't need it any more so gets rid of it.

An incredible end to, without a doubt, the best show I've ever seen.

All wrapped up nicely. It was quite a 'safe' ending though - nothing hit like losing Hank or 'I watched Jane die', but I suppose all the danger cards had been played really. Short of them taking a final mega gooseberry fool on Jesse (which I'm strawberry floating glad they didn't do), I suppose there wasn't much left for them pull out of the hat.

Still, a proper ending to an awesome show. I'd rather a safe ending that wraps everything up properly than a 'brave' ending that leaves gooseberry fool hanging and doesn't really make sense.

Would have strawberry floating loved for Todd to know that Walt had poisoned Lydia before he got choked though. So glad it was Jesse who got to deliver that.

Because the show was written in a logical and sensible way. All made sense and followed the themes. Also as mentioned in the AV club review....

Predictability was the theme through the episode. He predicted the Grey Matter couple being spineless, Lydia using the sweetener, the Aryans trying to kill him etc. Same as the machines in the episode kept going on and on (the electric chair, the gun) as that is what they do. The only things to change were Walt and Jesse. It was their story and we see just them change. Walt dropped his facade of family first to admit that it was the thrill he got from being a criminal that became the main reason to keep going. He died where he felt most alive, in the lab, taking the legacy of his blue meth with him. Police will assume Walt was the sole person behind the blue leaving Jesse free to live the life that he is now happy to have.

Great ending, great show and good to have a US series that doesn't drag on interminably for a change.

That was a great ending.

When he was in the Schwartz house and looking at the family pictures Walt looked so small, it was almost like he was withering away. It didn't feel rushed at all to me, and the parting shot was poetic.
