Not really sure how it could have ended happy for Walt, but I was thinking that at the end he would have started one last cook!

Regarding Todd, I don't think he was complete evil as much as a complete idiot. After they had all been shot and he looked out the window, rather than seeing the rifle in the boot of Walt's car and reacting immediately, realising Walt had done this, it looked like he was going to say something like "Mr White, what is that in the back of your car" before Jesse started garotting him.

Evil doesn't exist. Tod was an essential psychopath. Despite the fact that TV shows like to glamorise psychopaths as being super intelligent monsters like Dr Lecter, they can be any intelligence level, often lower than average. That's why I both liked and hated Tod.

When I made that joke I got in trouble. I am so paranoid now about spoiling things for people, I have put your joke in a spoiler box.

I thought this might be the case, but having never watched it, difficult to confirm. Now he has spoiled the ending though, not sure there is any point in me even starting to watch it. :x

That didn't even happen in Lost. Anyone who thinks it did after watching the episode is a moron.

My thoughts on the final episode.

Overall I enjoyed it, not one of the best episodes though.

The part when he went to the Grey Matters folk was unexpected, i thought he'd want revenge etc. I thought they were hitmen to start with, but was nice to see badger and co.

Thought the ricin was a bit obvious, though not sure how he got it in a packet of sugar/sweetener then got it resealed. Didn't Walt almost do the same thing earlier in the series (he at least took it with him to the coffee shop).

I'm not sure if i'm a little disappointing or underwhelmed by the final scenes either purely because the show is actually over or that I was almost expecting something bigger to happen. I thought either Jessie or Walt would be killed in a brutal manner. The gun in the car was a bit like the scarface scene which had been hinted at, but again you could see what was going to happen and how easily Walt managed to get the car keys when there was a guy right next to him was a bit odd.

Nice ending with him back in a lab, i also thought he was gunna start a cook

Also do people think he was dead by the time the cops found him, or that he was just lying there about to die. Not really a major point but my mates and I couldn't agree.

Woke up this morning and one of the first thoughts I had was that I couldn't believe this show was over

I thought he was going to start one final cook, too. I thought he would get all the machines going and die doing what he loved doing.

Hank and the other guy die in the shoot out.

Walt then has no other choice but to cook again with the nazis.

Jesse runs away.

Walt seeks revenge against the nazis for killing Hank.

Some nazis die after Walt poisons them. Some get away.

Flash forward to Walt buying the bad ass gun on the hunt for the Nazis that got away.

Jesse intervenes. Everyone dies.

Looks like I was way off

You know, the more I think about it the more the gun moment pretty much was a cop out. When did Walt become an engineer? When did he turn into Macgyver? How did he know every member of the gang would be the house? He should have stuck to he knows best, science bitch.

After wiring up a homemade bomb to detonate via a bell attached to a wheelchair, I don't think a gun in a car boot is that far fetched.

I do think it's a much better scenario than Walt gatecrashing them and scream "say hello to my little friend!" and gun them down. But then, it does smack a bit of McGyver, but what would be the more ideal scenario?

Also surprised that Walt wants to kill off Lydia. She's such a worrywart and I think the Nazi massacre would be enough for her to get out of the meth business. But I guess Walt want his legacy to die with him, to make sure.

See, I don't believe it is. At the end of the day he was still using chemicals, he knew how much damage it would cause and it was very clever and unpredictable. I'm not saying going down the explosion route again but there are too many coincidences that didn't quite sit right.

To Wedgie's point I never, ever wanted for Walt to go in all guns blazing, it would have been an insult to everyone who watched.

As for Lydia, I think a possible scenario could have seen her being taken to prison. See, I don't know how much leeway Skylar would get for showing where Hank's and Gomey's bodies are currently buried. Perhaps if Skylar knew the nazi's were dead (a phone call from Walt maybe) she could tell the police about Lydia and use her as the bargaining chip which in turn would unravel her connections she currently has.

Just listening to the podcast.

Vince Gilligan tells a story about a scene he pitched very early on after Jesse would have died in season 1. It's incredible! Everyone should listen to it. :dread:

I take it the $70million in the barrels will be found by the authorities and taken by the government.

Of course there were coincidences and an element of blind luck, but there were just as many when he blew up Gus. The bomb there might have used chemicals, but he still had to wire it up to the wheelchair. A gun on a very basic "robot" arm is hardly jumping the shark compaired to previous Walt plans.

It was incredibly simple. A child could make it out of Lego.
