It looks perfect! I wanted the Majoras Mask to Breath of the Wild’s Ocarina of Time and this teaser gives of a real dark vibe. Zelda and Link exploring caves beneath Hyrule and finding what looks to be some kind of sealed Ganon remaining alive income mummified form. Definitely get hints of The Fused Shadow in Twilight Princess and Demise from Skyward Sword in the silhouette that we see.

I think some time has passed so maybe we’ll get a bit of rebuilding having occurred throughout Hyrule to freshen up a lot of locations. Possibly a lot of underground stuff as well so there’s plenty of new environments rich in Zelda lore so you’re not just going over old ground too.

I think based on this trailer being story focussed, the fact we’re already over 2 years out from BOTW, and the fact it uses the same engine, I reckon we can expect this Q4 next year!

Same Engine - Check
Continued story - Check
Same visuals - Check
Darker theme - Check

Straight into my veins :datass: :datass: :datass:

It looks like the same game world which is good as it seems like so much more can be done with it, but also bad as they could really do this as a major DLC too. Since finishing it, I haven't been compelled to go back.

I very much doubt it will be the same game world. I think it will like Majora’s Mask where Link (and Zelda by the looks of it) get pulled into another world somehow.

Monolith were recruiting for a Zelda game not so long ago so it’s a safe bet they’re working on this and they were largely responsible for BOTW’s map.

Exactly this. The castle was getting pulled somewhere.

I'll be excited for this nearer the time, I think. It's going to be incredible, but I'm not excited or overjoyed or anything yet. It's too far away for that.

Give me dungeons, items, and playable Zelda though or I swear to Din...

If the castle is getting pulled somewhere I’d say an alternate version of Hyrule is a possibility?

Playable Zelda would be amazing. My friend suggested it might be co-op as they were both there but that's probably clutching at straws :slol:

Looks great. Thinking lots of subteraneon stuff for this one, and the additional dungeons that would entail.

Fantastic announcement, guessing this will be a late 2020 release to go up against the new console launches?

I went with the back end of 2021. We got very little to go on here, not even a smidgeon of gameplay. I suppose they do at least have the engine ready-made, but BotW was bloody huge and took years to make!

if this wasn't a late 2021 release I will be very surprised.

Maybe not, Aonuma has hinted at multiplayer a few times after BOTW.

It was 64 months between Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild. If this came out November 2020 it would be a 44 month gap and while that is shorter than usual for a gap between Zeldas you’ve got to feel doing a direct sequel saves a lot of time.

I don’t really want to play as Zelda. I’d be happy to have her act as support throughout the game but I don’t think I want to have control taken away from Link.

I'm so ready to Breathe in the Wild once again.

Check out my YouTube channel!

Just remembered this actually got a mention on BBC Radio 2’s news segment, think it was the 8 o’clock news. Was the last thing I expected to get a mention to be honest

The audio specialists are already deep into trying to decode the weird sounds at the start of the trailer. Have seen speculation about it containing the Game Over music from the original LOZ and also some audio saying things like “Help” and “Push Her”

All pretty speculative so far.
