What worries me is that I'm not on the open electoral register, so I've no idea how they got my name and address.

Did spot a whole bunch of them camped in the middle of Queen Street in Cardiff yesterday, they had a little table and some banners set up saying something along the lines of "taking back control!"

They were trying to foist their pamphlets on people but most seemed disinterested. Was hilarious to see one gammon trying to get support from a guy who was clearly German as well.

I just saw this on the 6 o’clock news. “People like you” she went on to explain that as her sister lives in London she knows there are Asian, Indian and Turkish people living there.

Integration is such a nebulous concept as well and is the perfect stick to beat "others" with as it can mean everything and nothing. Don't come to the pub, you're not integrating. Don't watch Corrie and moan about the weather, you're not integrating. Still insist on wearing "foreign" clothes and not dressing like a chav, you're not integrating. Practice you're own cultural traditions and don't go to the local Easter egg hunt on Easter Sunday, you're not integrating.

"Local" people could be abstaining from any/all of those things as well but they get a free pass?

Absolutely. "Integration" is a form of authoritarianism -- you must look and speak like this and do that sort of work and have those friends and these hobbies, otherwise you don't "fit in with our values" and then inevitably you aren't "the kind of person we want here". Yet - like all the trappings of authoritarianism and conservatism - it's never supposed to be applied to the in-group, it's an elaborate excuse for a phobia, for prejudice, for the maintenance of a hierarchy and the protection of the in-group's privileged position. You see the same twisted logic applied to justify homophobia - "can't they just act straight?" - and transphobia, misogyny, prejudice towards the working class, etc.
