Nigel Farage has apparently helped organise some kind of pro-brexit march...

Looked utterly delightful.

Let's be honest Labour have very little strawberry floating interest in avoiding this now. I fully expect that a referendum will be between May's deal and No deal.

Could "confirmation ballot" possibly be interpreted as a general election as well?

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Corbyn did that.

I can't see a referendum backed by Labour being May's deal or No Deal. It would end the Labour party.

Also can't see it being a general election. It would be an absolute mess because a general election couldn't (and shouldn't) be a single issue vote that results in a new government. What happens in the likely event we get another hung parliament?

I'm starting to think May's deal could squeeze through. I hope it doesnt. Is it Tuesday that it's being put to parliament?

Yeah Tuesday.

I’m not sure if it’ll go through. Even if she gets the DUP and ERG onside, she’s still well short of the votes needed.

But I think it’ll be close either way, a lot of MPs will be spooked by her threats of long delays and the risk of No Deal.

3 strawberry floating votes on this deal that nobody really wants and the public gets strawberry float all of a say.

I could see a referendum ending up being one of,

May Deal vs Remain
May Desl vs Remain vs No Deal
May Deal vs Remain vs Labour deal of Unicorns and magic rainbows

Though Corbyn will want,
May Deal vs Labour deal of Unicorns and magic rainbows

There will be a huge push for it being only two choices. If it was a three choice ballot with Remain as one of the options then Brexiters will just cry foul that the Leave vote is being intentionally split to 'fix' it so Remain wins.

Any referendum will have to be two choices.

Splitting the Leave vote will never get through, rightly as well, it’s unfair.

Second preference voting won’t get through as MPs will moan it’s too complex for the simple plebs.

Two referendums (Leave v Remain followed by one on how to leave) will be written off as too many votes and people are bored of voting.

The only way referendum that would make sense is Remain v May’s Deal as the government wouldn’t risk putting No Deal on the ballot.

But I don’t think we’ll get another go.

I can see Labour's amendment being defeated which would in turn see May's deal not getting the cross party support it would require.

The worrying thing about all this is that even if the withdrawal deal is passed it's still another two to four years of uncertainty and lowered investment while the actual final deal is decided. The UK is already lagging behind other countries in things like high tech manufacturing and the gap has widened over the last ten years.

Ultimately that means that if Brexit goes ahead we will need a much more interventionist government that can ramp up domestic investment in order to compensate for reduced foreign investment. Sadly, I fear the first instinct of any Conservative government after leaving will be to simply slash taxes and regulatory burden still further. I also worry that the British public are too used to light tax burdens and will be balk at the prospect of having to pay a more reasonable amount. Thatcherism has a lot to answer for.

Is that the Labour deal of Unicorns and magic rainbows that the EU have spoken in support of?

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-47160625

Jeremy Corbyn's letter setting out his party's demands for supporting a Brexit deal has been welcomed by the European Parliament's Brexit co-ordinator.

Guy Verhofstadt said "the broadest possible majority" was needed for a Brexit deal in the UK.

An EU source said European Council President Donald Tusk said the letter was a "promising way" out of the impasse, in talks with the PM.
