Farron I can understand, he probably had an anti-gay march to attend.

Disappointing that Cable couldn’t be arsed or chose to abstain. The stench of the coalition is still on him, he needs to be seen to oppose this government.

Does anyone have a link to how people voted last night as I've also seen that Jo Swinson didn't vote either.

EDIT: Swinson was on maternity leave so was paired. Farron and Cable though have no excuse. I'm cancelling my membership unless both come out today with something substantial to explain this away.

Farron was giving a speech about the death of liberalism. Apparently Cable just abstained.

Brexit campaign group Vote Leave has been fined £61,000 and referred to the police after an Electoral Commission probe said it broke electoral law.

The investigation found "significant evidence of joint working" between the group and another organisation - BeLeave - leading to it exceeding its spending limit by almost £500,000.

Vote Leave also returned an "incomplete and inaccurate spending report", with almost £234,501 reported incorrectly, and invoices missing for £12,849.99 of spending, the watchdog said.

BeLeave founder Darren Grimes has also been fined and referred to the police for breaking the group's spending limit by more than £665,000 and wrongly reporting the spending as his own.

A £61k fine for overspending by over £500k and for illegally collaborating with another group that overspent by over £650k. Seems fair.

It seems to be. No matter what the various Leave campaigns did, it doesn't matter because the government sent everyone a leaflet.

Looks like there were 37 abstentions in all.

Looks like 3 Lib Dems were absent from the vote, Farron and Cable as noted above, and a third who was on maternity leave. Our parliament needs to update to allow voting in absentia.

Having said that, if Naz Shah can drag herself in on an IV drip in a wheelchair, then that Lib Dem should have hired a babysitter.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

There's a rematch of sorts today.

Today is the vote on the inclusion of Article NC18. It states that if the current Mogg deal fails, they must negotiate a customs union.

Considering some of the flack the Lib Dems are receiving and the fact the amendment is basically Lib Dem policy, I foresee this being even closer. If it tips in balance of yes, Mogg will lose control and surely May will go.

Another tense day.

I heard on RTE this morning that it's now illegal for the customs border to be in the Irish sea (according to the UK) after last night, is this correct?

If so, it's no deal, simple as.

It sure looks like that’s where we are headed. By putting a hard border between Northern Ireland and Ireland, we pretty much guarantee a no deal Brexit and an end of the Good Friday Agreement.

Things are still so crazy here though that it is impossible to know what will happen today, let alone a few months down the line.

So Farron was essentially off having another moan because people criticisised his homophobic beliefs, but where was Vince Cable?

There is no excuse for the Lib Dems to abstain. I actually back their calls for a referendum on the final deal, by not playing their part it makes it even harder to take them seriously.

Is this legit? You'd think anyone seeing how close the previous vote was would get their arse in gear now. I mean, is there any reason for the opposition to not vote to basically collapse the government?

I don’t think anybody has taken them seriously since Clegg agreed to the coalition. Ever since then they have just been declining and pissing off their former supporters.

Which is a shame, we could do with a strong third voice in Parliament that isn’t a nationalist party. The SNP are not good enough as the third party as they don’t represent anybody south of the border.

It’s actually impossible for a strong Remain voter to know who to vote for anymore. The Tories are obviously out, Labour are divided on the issue and the Lib Dems do stupid gooseberry fool like this.

Hopefully Lord Buckethead stands in my constituency next time.
