Kind of depressing that British people are now impressed by a government that has a basic level of competence.

Of course, I think the real reason there is not similar action taking place in the UK is because so many politicians are in denial about the actual consequences of leaving the EU or don't want to admit to people that there are any.

Oh, and what is this shite about time limiting the so called backstop arrangements? It's supposed to be what they do until they can come up with something better. If you time limit it then what are you going to do if it runs out? Have a backstop for the backstop? Asinine.

Almost like he was crying, I actually felt bad for him

He said he wants to deport all EU citizens that are living in the UK and that he doesn’t believe there are any Syrian refugees. He hates globalists, but has just come back from a Greek holiday and has previously lived in Australia. :fp:

He’s a banana split and I have zero sympathy for him.

A surprise, to be sure, but an unwelcome one.

I've never watched one of his videos, but his face behind the thumbnail tells me he's a prick.

Everytime I see his face I'm reminded of the time Mockmaster renamed Cal's thread to 'The Pat Condell Café'.

Mocky. :(

Then you don't pass a budget. Don't really understand how that works, unless she's confident that they'll come back after, which seems unlikely (though not impossible).

Maybe she's banking on enough Labour MPs supporting the budget (lol)

Has there ever been a minority government in the history of parliament that didn't collapse?

Couldn’t stomach watching all of that but what I did see was utter bollocks which has been debunked time and again. The guy is a lunatic.

I guess that would depend on whether Labour actually want to be in power.

Something had to give. It's not surprising she's trying to keep her party together, as opposed to appeasing the DUP. Tories gonna Tory.

Sort of related, Brexit came up in work, a few of us were talking about it today, which is the first time I've ever discussed it with the people in my team.

Most agreed it's strawberry floating ridiculous and self damaging. One dude was spinning the 'we have to do it, it's democracy' line. He didn't vote for it, realises the potential ramifications (he read yesterday's technical notices on electricity). He thinks we'll just have to get used to the changes. I flat out disagreed with him, had to stop myself from turning into a frothing remoaner.

It was a really interesting discussion nonetheless. Some people thought it was bad, but didn't realise how bad it might get.
