Kind of depressing that British people are now impressed by a government that has a basic level of competence.

Of course, I think the real reason there is not similar action taking place in the UK is because so many politicians are in denial about the actual consequences of leaving the EU or don't want to admit to people that there are any.

Oh, and what is this shite about time limiting the so called backstop arrangements? It's supposed to be what they do until they can come up with something better. If you time limit it then what are you going to do if it runs out? Have a backstop for the backstop? Asinine.

Something had to give. It's not surprising she's trying to keep her party together, as opposed to appeasing the DUP. Tories gonna Tory.

Sort of related, Brexit came up in work, a few of us were talking about it today, which is the first time I've ever discussed it with the people in my team.

Most agreed it's strawberry floating ridiculous and self damaging. One dude was spinning the 'we have to do it, it's democracy' line. He didn't vote for it, realises the potential ramifications (he read yesterday's technical notices on electricity). He thinks we'll just have to get used to the changes. I flat out disagreed with him, had to stop myself from turning into a frothing remoaner.

It was a really interesting discussion nonetheless. Some people thought it was bad, but didn't realise how bad it might get.
