I simply can't understand leave voters who don't want a second ref. Now the position is clear, the outcome of any possible deal seems likely, I don't get why they wouldn't want to go back to the people.

If you voted leave because you wanted more democracy, not less, then a second vote is essential. It either ratifies your view or you have to accept that given more information from the negotiations that leaving will be an act of self harm.

This isn't to excuse the poor behaviour of Remain campaigners shown in Irene Demova's post above, but the centre ground surely has to take the rational view. I say that as a pretty hard leftist voter. I support democracy above all, and this needs a vote to either ratify the deal or remain with the status quo.

There’s a very good reason why. They know they’d probably lose.

Out of 600k Remain marchers today, that one sign is the only example of bad behaviour I’ve seen. I don’t want to diminish that awful sign (it’s truly appalling) but they don’t represent the Remain side, any more than the EDL represent Leave.

Absolutely this. They know they fluked a 'win' under bizarre circumstances and that Remain will take a landslide if there is to be another vote.

It's the obvious unspoken understanding at all times.

I was there. I didn’t see a single properly offensive placard at all until seeing Outrunner’s post now. A lot of them were gooseberry fool, but not offensive. It was nice to be surrounded by so many people who care about this. Offers some slim hope.

With Farage involved it'll resemble more Brittas than British.

You’ve misunderstood. People like that only want free speech for themselves. After all, they didn’t protest for Anjem Choudary’s freedom like they Tommy Robinson.

Reminds me very much of working men’s clubs, this. Still if I recall correctly the only place I've been insulted for having the last name Klein (German, Nazis, etc).

Ah, Pat, where have you been...

Imagine organising a night out with him.

“Let’s go out for Pizza!”
“Got my vote!”
“Actually, instead, let’s go out and lick a tramps scrotum”
“But... I voted for pizza”
“YOU VOTED TO GO OUT”
“Can I vote again?”
“YOU’LL HANG FOR THIS”

Thanks I'm going to steal this and repeatedly post it on DM brexit stories. The daily scaremongering one today is that the EU plan to make Britain scrap BST daylight saving as part of any deal.

They definitely didn’t know what they were voting for back then, they only voted for a trading bloc!

This is the best analogy.

I've completely lost track of this.

May's extension seems to be free, fully up to the UK to decide when it ends and fully up to the UK to decide what it implements during it.

Corbyn rules out any extension - and that Lab's "workable" (but rejected by EU) Customs Union solution is perfect and can be implement by March, so the Goverment should just move over (that was the language, not hold an election...just hand over power)

It's all just such a confusing mess of lies
