It seems the plan is to get Parliament to vote for an extension and when the EU ask what for, to then push for a referendum.

I still think opposing/abstaining tonight is bloody stupid.

Starting to think Jezza may have played a blinder here if as is being mooted a split of the ERG are going to support a Labour no confidence vote if May puts her meaningful vote forward again.

It wasn't a smart decision, much like voting for a party that put up a referendum on EU membership in the first place.

At least I got a chance to vote against that the next time though since a General Election always gets a do over.

Voting for Brexit, in any form, was more of a monumental act of stupidity than voting Conservative ever has been (well, except maybe right now, at least up to 2015 they'd shown some level of competence) and you had to be, at best, wilfully ignorant to buy into any of the leave arguments.
Brexit voters continue to play the "Remainers look down on us and tell us we're stupid and we didn't know what we voted for!" card as a way to shut down any criticism of them, and I'm sick of it. It's useless trying to be nice anymore, if they're not going to listen might as well call them out on it.

How did you vote against holding a referendum in 2016 in the 2017 general election?

I see the Independant Group Plc have the tactical intelligence of a lemming.

I mean I'm not walking up to random people in the street asking how they voted. I can only really talk to people I know. My friends voted remain, most of my family did (my brother who didn't I call out everytime he brings it up) and then that really just leaves people at work.

At that point I could vote for parties that wanted to reverse Article 50. Or at the very least parties that would negotiate in good faith and not be a total shambles over the whole thing.

I wasnt having a go at him specifically, and he admitted himself he was a fool for falling for the lies of the leave campaign, just like I was an idiot to vote Conservative in 2015.
Sorry if it was taken too harshly, it wasnt directed at any individual person, just a general feeling towards the Leave vote in 2016.

People were idiots in 2016 to fall for the lies being peddled by Johnson and Farage when they were easily revealable as lies with the tiniest bit if independent research.

He's right. If I said anything Rees-Mogg was saying with my terrible brummie accent, no one would take it seriously whatsoever. Being a posh twat works in his favour.
