So I've lost track. Of course I understand that May's deal will most likely be voted down next week. But what then, does anyone in the know how think this can possibly end well?

As time goes on with more uncertainty, does the hope for a second referendum increase?

No-one really knows right now, but any option we go with wth be massive unpalatable to a huge swathe of the popultaion, and yet we have to listen to politicians claim we will face 'massive division', despite the fact its clear to everyone we are already there.

Norway and Sweden have arount 80 border crossings, we have about 275.

I also don't think any land owned by anyone crosses the border between Norway and Sweden, we have lots of farms that have land north and south here.

I must have read the numbers the other way round. But still only one crossing has an actual border check. As I've said previously I want to stay in the EU but EFTA and EEA membership is surely the next best option. But it's not going to happen anyway as there is no will for it.

Where do you get the idea that Norway only carry out checks because they want to? They let individuals through without checking, but they check lorries and goods. Because they’re not in the customs union.

That’s why the Norway model doesn’t work. You’d have to have Norway+ for it to work (which is Norway plus the customs union).

We might of being able to get that a year ago.

We probably still could, but as we won’t accept free movement it’s dead in the water.

And even if we did get it, it’s far worse than just remaining. The Leavers would hate it, the Remainers would see it as a waste of time compared to what we have/had.
