Comments on that Simon Cowley tweet are hugely depressing.

"By spending 20 years milking the EU gravy train Nigel was just showing us all how corrupt the EU is, that's why I'm voting for him!"

You literally cannot show these people anything that will sway them, they are so entrenched in the belief that they are right that they are capable of holding an interpretation of evidence that is wholly at odds with the reality of what it is showing.

Show them a video of Farage beating up a pensioner and they would comment: "Thanks Nigel for pointing out how terrible elder abuse is and how easy it is to do in our current corrupt system!"

Crazy isn’t it. You see the exact same thing with Trump supporters, you can point out that he is a founder member of the swamp but they will still insist he is the best man to drain it.

It’s sad to say but I think there is a significant proportion of the population that is too far gone to ever listen to reason.

Yeah mine was supposed to arrive "By the 17th May". Thing is the reason I wanted a postal vote was because I'm going abroad on 19th May, so it was cutting it pretty bloody close. Postal Votes should arrive weeks before, not days.

Looking at the 2014 European election results for the South West, the Greens ever so slightly beat the Lib Dems and so I will be going Green. I am not a fan of Vince Cable and still don’t trust the Lib Dems after the coalition years.

In Essex the Greens beat the Lib Dems but with the polls the Lib Dems way up so I'll probably vote for them. I just want to vote for the anti-Brexit party with the best chance of winning as I feel a message needs to be sent. We probably won't be in the EU must longer so other than that, nothing else matters.

Change UK's lead candidate for the EU elections in Scotland has quit the race and is now endorsing the Lib Dems.

David Macdonald is top of the Change UK list in Scotland, but said the party "don't stand much of a chance" of winning a seat in the 23 May poll.

He urged pro-Remain voters to back the Lib Dems to avoid "splitting the vote" and benefiting pro-Brexit parties.

Change UK MP Chuka Umunna said it was "disappointing" that Mr Macdonald had "let down his fellow candidates".

Mr Macdonald is the second lead candidate to quit the Change UK list in Scotland, after David Russo withdrew one day into the race.

The Tories are strawberry floated (thankfully), Labour haven't got a clue (aside from hoping the country burns down so they can blame the Tories) and there is no viable alternative beyond those two who will garner enough support to make a difference. Any attempt to introduce another option seems to flounder aside from drawing up a one policy party that will get protest votes in an election they don't actually want representatives to engage with the political process afterwards.

Unless one of the main parties comes to their senses ( ) then we are strawberry floated.

I guess there is a chance that Corbyn will end up backing May’s deal. It would be very unpopular amongst Labour MPs, but he could probably force through enough votes to pass it. The daft strawberry floater seems far more likely to do that than he is to properly back another referendum.
