I wonder if middle aged people in the 1880s kept banging on about "if it weren't for us you'd all be speaking French!!", while the actual elderly Napoleonic veterans rolled their eyes in disgust.

I don't know why this thread is so quite now. It seems like there's a lot of information coming out about how bad Brexit is actually going to be.

Probably because we've read it all and heard it all before. It's nothing new just more evidence that it will become reality. It's also very depressing and we can't do anything to avoid it so it's best to just bury your head in the sand and try to forget about it.

Most people here are reasonably well informed how bad Brexit will be.

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Resigned that it's going to happen. There was a hope before that it might be averted, I think. That's gone.

Yeah it's hard for me to keep promising everyone that it won't actually happen when it's clear that it will actually happen .

Plus everything is now just getting snuck in quietly behind the scenes rather than in public, or buried underneath all the Covid news whilst everyone is focused on that.

Read pretty much any of my posts in this thread prior to the general election.

What can I say, I'm an optimist :slol:.

And the 1966 world cup.

Britain lives on the fumes of glories long past. It's really quite pathetic.
