This is somehow even more ridiculous than it first looks, a good thread explaining why:

It's a non starter really, just about headlines.

I don’t expect any major shops to ditch the metric system, some may well display both as was common place for years previously. You’ll probably find some random green groceries in odd places in the country that go imperial for publicity or something but that will be it.

The Tories doing this is just about playing to their audience. The metric system is here to stay.

This apart from it will feature in the British citizenship test just to discourage any of them foreign types from going through with it

Is that confirmed or a prediction. If it's a prediction then you are unfortunately probably spot on.

Where the public sits on the whole measurement debate:

YouGov wrote:Pounds and Ounces: Plans are being set out to make it legal for market stalls, shops and supermarkets to sell their goods using ‘imperial measures’ only – something that was famously not allowed when the UK was in the European Union

And Britons support this plan rather than oppose it, by 43% to 35%, with 23% saying they don’t know

Those who voted Leave (64%) are considerably more likely than those who voted Remain (28%) to show support for ‘Imperial Measures’ returning

That's a pretty large area of ambiguity there i.e. nobody actually gives a strawberry float.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

Sounds like we're really close to the supply chain falling apart here. Going to be a long winter.

Can't believe we have less bargaining power as a small country than when we were part of a 27 member trading bloc.

Oh wait. I can. Because us remoaners all pointed this out 5 years ago.

UK is about to run out of soft drinks:

The British Soft Drinks Association said manufacturers have “only a few days” of carbon dioxide left in reserve to produce beverages and can’t import supplies from the European Union due to Brexit.

Maybe Brexit was a stealth way of managing obesity.
