We want to remain in the EU. A deal to leave is better than no deal but I don't want either.

Why?

If Johnson's deal fails to get through Parliament then all options are still on the table. Including Remain.

The option of leaving without a deal is also on the table.

Boris' proposed deal is just a step up from no deal, an even harder more damaging Brexit than May's deal. Some MPs won't vote for that level of harm even if they want to do a deal while there's a clear majority against no deal in Parliament.

Call me selfish, but any deal that prevents a border on an island that:

A - Voted Remain and
B- Didn't get to have a vote

is a good deal.

It's looking like No Deal or No Brexit as the only realistic options. Johnson's deal doesn't look like it will pass through Parliament.

An extension, an election and then god knows.

So do you think we'll actually remain then?

Johnson's stupid May- proposal is better than No Deal. If those were the two options left then, sure, you take any option that isn't No Deal.

That isn't the situation we're in though, it's No Deal vs. May- vs. Extension. Extension is obviously the best of those three.

On some days I am optimistic and some days I am pessimistic. At the moment I am paranoid that Johnson will get his deal through and we are screwed.

I think if Johnson’s deal fails to pass, then we will end up with an extension and election. And it’s hard to predict what will happen there.

DUP shafted by UK negotiators? :slol:

Maybe they accepted the new proposals on consent without the DUP's consent...

That is a monumentally low bar to aim for.

Any Brexit is going to hit Ireland hard, so it really is a low bar.

IDGI.

We have a bunch of abhorrent banana splits in charge in the UK and I get laughed at for having a 'low bar'?

I'd prefer the UK didn't leave the EU at all, I hate that I have to keep retyping this fact.
