This is a tough one, on one hand I'm glad this guy has seen that Brexit is gooseberry fool and that he acknowledges it.

But on the other hand, he only seems to care because he can't pay immigrants minimum wage anymore. It's not "Brexit is terrible because it's destroyed lives and ushered in an age of consequence free lying for politicians". It's "poor me, I'm making slightly less money".

Dickhead.

This is why "compassion for the conned" only has so much value.

Nice to see we are getting to the "deport Holocaust survivors" stage of Brexit.

Many of the same people who celebrate Nicholas Winton's life saving humanitarian efforts will happily say a Holocaust survivor should have submitted the right paperwork by now to remain in this country.

It's the I voted as a businessman for Brexit, but now as a person I wouldn't.
Then goes on to list business reasons why Brexit is bad for him

The excuse of when asked how he voted "I voted as a businessman" shows exactly why he's changed his mind.

I have compassion for the conned. But only if they have acknowledged their mistake and if they've realised it because of the harm to others/the country. "I want cheap labour" isn't getting any compassion from me.

It's not a tough one really is it. He's a selfish banana split, which is why he voted leave in 2016 and why he's upset now.

Did you miss the part when I said exactly that?

It's a tough one because we need dickheads like this to publicly admit that Brexit was a mistake and is going to cost us all. He's a selfish twat, but he's a selfish twat that can be used to make a few more people realise how gooseberry fool all of this is.

I hate the excuse of "business" for making shitty decisions that come down to absolute (often short-term) profit.

This has genuinely upset me, what a joke of a country we have shown ourselves to be

Pfft, if you let one Holocaust survivor stay, then they'll all want to come here!!!

It is shocking, especially when we remember Patel's plan to criminalise things like the kindertransport.

I really, really, really hope this is as low as this country is going to sink.

But I don't think it is.

They should give the woman a break. Not only was she a victim of the Holocaust, she also lives in Dundee.

Well it looks like someone won't be organising the Ireland Olympic opening ceremony any time soon.

Or will he organise it and get sacked in the weeks before it takes place?

A company I was doing work for before the pandemic has Brexit-supporting owners, since Brexit and Covid they've had trouble getting new staff and instead have hired online workers in the Philippines and are paying them half the UK minimum wage.

They really aren't exaggerating, there are thousands of examples of the Express predicting the collapse of the EU. Almost every day for over half a decade.

It's no wonder people are so brainwashed.

Presumably to be a regular reader of the Express you need to actually have dementia or be so addicted to confirmation bias you don't notice you're reading the same thing every day for years on end
