Is that Captain Tom at the wheel? Bless him, what a patriot mowing that BRITISH grass, not none of that foreign muck what the neighbours with the funny accent have #backingboris #brexitwinner #hashtag

On this though, I did see that Portugal have become the first EU country to allow us to use the EU lanes and EU passport gates. Hopefully more follow, especially Spain but I'm not hopeful.

Obviously I don't want to see that year round, but I am looking forward to the jubilee for nostalgia. 2012 seemed such an amazing year. Jubilee, Olympics, in between an ashes back to back, Wiggins winning The Tour, Euro 2012 Matt Smith as The Doctor, Skyfall, The Avengers, Wii U released for Christmas, awesome end to the Premier League.

We never had it so good in terms of pure fun. 2012 was the last year before the Hadron Collidor took us into the hell dimension.

2010 it started, when the Tories got into power.

Things got worse and worse from there. But ramped up in 2016 obviously.

Port Authorities are making noises about suing the government over costs of border controls/checks they're been preparing to implement that will never happen.

The London Olympics had the greatest opening Ceremony in its history imo, Stunning.

Yeah I don't go in for national pride as I think it's daft, but that whole summer was just so much fun. I remember our neighbourhood had a street party which I didn't attend, but the Olympics was great from start to finish. In terms of national pride, if I really had to feel something like that, it was when Mr Bean appeared on the keyboard during thay opening ceremony. That summed up Britain for me!

It was just a really great summer.

I can't forget the stuff the coalition did though, like the bedroom tax and utterly and completely shafting young people for a generation. After 2012 there seemed to be a real toxicity injected into politics.

What's the deal with the border checks do we have an unlimited opt out or something that we can just keep using?

It sort of feels that everyone who sat and watched that opening ceremony in 2012 and hated it decided they needed to be in charge because all the great things that were championed are being slowly dismantled.

It's our border checks so I guess we can just decide not to implement them. Problem is, every exporting UK company has to comply with those countries it's selling to so all we're doing is giving EU companies a competitive edge. #takingbackcontrol
