Easy ownage, but as this is coming from KFC, owned by Yum brands, who have repeatedly made massive donations to the Conservatives in the US, it's of course disingenuous.

To be fair US and UK conservatives really don't have much in common.

US style conservatism would be completely unelectable here and UK conservatism would be called flat out communism, socialism and a bunch of other highly amusing ism's in the US and Fox news would strawberry floating explode.
I would love to see a version of the commons in the US though as that sort of political scrutiny and being asked actual questions by other politicians and the answer they give being public record would be fun as it would prove just how shallow Republicans are if they're asked to justify being against things like public housing or helping the homeless.

I'm getting unreasonably frustrated with the absolute thick tossers in the replies suggesting that the PM should be above the law. The importance of Magna Carta is overstated, but one thing we did sort out back then in the 1200s is that the people in charge still have to obey the law. It's a foundational principle of our civilisation that literally pre-dates parliamentary democracy and has been a core part of how it functions from the start. These strawberry floating stupid people are outright fascists and they don't even know it.

It’s no wonder when you have banana splits like Richard Littlejohn writing in the Mail and telling people that it’s not only ok for the Prime Minister to lie, but it’s actually a wonderful thing.

Haven’t stopped laughing since Boris bowled the Remoaners a short one which would have done Jofra Archer proud.

Get that in the lower abdomen for a start, mate.

Goodness knows how he’s managed to keep a straight face, pretending that proroguing Parliament is all about preparing for the Queen’s Speech.

And nothing to do with making sure Brexit actually happens on October 31 — cross my heart, hope to die, stand on me, guv, my word is my bond.

Oh, and by the way, how does Remain manage to rustle up a few hundred demonstrators at five minutes’ notice? Do they keep them billeted in a warehouse over the river from Westminster?

In the words of the McDonald’s advert: I’m lovin’ it! What an unbridled joy it is to see someone at last sticking it where it hurts to self-righteous Remoaners.

It’s the kind of decisive gesture which Tungsten-tipped Brexiteers like me have been hoping for ever since 17.4 million of us voted Leave more than three years ago.

Watch and listen to them squealing like stuck pigs.

Our press has turned the country into a sewer.

Rudd has resigned again, just in time for the Sunday morning politics shows!

Edit: She resigned the Tory whip too!

Johnson and his advisers are this weekend exploring further legislative possibilities, including the “nuclear” option of tabling a no-confidence motion in the government and ordering Tory MPs to vote for it, in order to trigger an election. Such a motion would require only a simple majority of MPs to pass, but may not be allowed by the Speaker, John Bercow

strawberry floating. Insanity. Voting themselves out of government to force an election.

Surely if they do that, it falls to the opposition to form a govt and they would be mental if they can't patch an alliance together to survive until Nov 1st.

All in all, probably the worst month in history for a Tory PM. Majority lost, defections and resignations, purging grandees and now possibly resigning the govt!

Honestly, if people vote for the Tories in a GE, no deal Brexit and the consequences will be fully deserved.

A government having no confidence in itself should not be able to get re-elected for another 5 years. Idiots are still going to vote for him though. It also completely destroys Boris Johnson's lie that he doesn't want an election.

“gooseberry fool, my majority has gone...ummm...hey Corbyn, can I have an election?”

“strawberry float strawberry float strawberry float! Corbyn is not biting. gooseberry fool gooseberry fool gooseberry fool. Oh I know! I’ll call a vote of no confidence against myself! What could go wrong?”

I very much doubt Bercow would allow it. It's a clear abuse of a regulation meant to prevent an incompetent/dangerous government, not give such a one a majority.

Anyways. Dominic Cummings: Age of the Political Genius continues.

Amazingly...

Tories extend lead over Labour to 10% despite chaotic week

You've got to hope that if Johnson does something as abjectly ridiculous as VONCing himself, a majority might be reached for a caretaker government. Pick a Remain MP out of a hat, who cares, their only job will be to pop a letter to the EU in the post then call an election.

How...would this even work?

"Can I break the law?"

"Not unless you want to go to jail."
