What's the actual plan of action when a solid chunk of the population are just strawberry floating evil?

How...would this even work?

"Can I break the law?"

"Not unless you want to go to jail."

"oh"

It's election campaign lip service is all.

"I tried to defy the law for you voters but the sabotaging remoaners blocked me"

Amber Rudd is an interesting one, she barely won her seat at the last election, it took 3 or 4 recounts before she won.

She must know she’s got no chance of being re-elected so has nothing to lose.

Based on vast number of “Amber Rudd shame on you” posters and how our food bank has had to start turn people away as they are running out of food recently I will surprised if she gets back in.

We usually get strawberry floated a bit because we have a whole load of villages and more posh areas in our constituency so that doesn’t help as they tend to vote conservative regardless of everything.

Why the shift? Have they realised the EU won’t budge?

This may be slightly OT but I’ve been reading that the troubles, the good Friday agreement and Northern Ireland’s History isn’t taught in English schools, If this is true, it’s easier to understand why so many haven’t got a clue what they are talking about.

I think it's because if we have a peoples vote between May's deal which is completely gooseberry fool and Remain remain will win.

From what I remember, my school curriculum on history would have covered the Romans in Britain and the Tudors primarily in primary school, then a focus on the Peasants' Revolt and a shift to 20th century politics (Bolshevik Revolution, causes and impacts of the First World War, causes of impacts of the Second World War) in secondary school. I assume the latter stages were laid out that way (this was at GCSE level) as a hangover from explaining pre-90s Cold War politics.

I don't think Britain's Empire was even really mentioned and Northern Ireland certainly didn't come up.

I was taught it in high school, and my teenager brain thought it was easily the worst thing about the history curriculum. Despite being from NI.

We had the nazis before it and that was strawberry floating interesting (if grim as hell).

Looking at the actual English curriculum it's reasonably similar to the one I had 15-20 years ago. Ireland and Home Rule is actually used as an example of teaching about the Empire at Key Stage 3, so it might be up to the individual schools on what they actually teach. They may well do what my school did and focus on Britain's involvement in the transatlantic slave trade to cover off that section.

It's probably worth noting that the national curriculum wasn't introduced until 1988 and teachers are still largely free to teach what they want. I remember studying a lot about revolutionary France and William Morris in history.

Our history at GCSE in 1996 was all about the industrial revolution and local agriculture. I had to go to the library if I wanted to really learn anything.

At GCSE we did the Roman Empire, history of medicine, China and a little bit of WW2.

Before that we did the Tudors etc but nothing on Ireland or the British Empire. I guess the shame of it just means we ignore it.

It doesn't matter anymore, the vast majority of the labour party now understand that no deal we can possibly get is ever going to be as good as the one we already have. They'll happily allow us to remain I feel.

I see on my regular weekend stroll round the docks the Grain Barge has suddenly decided to fly a large EU flag.

No other flags that I could see, just an EU flag.

Strange marketing ploy to deliberately annoy and put off more than half your potential customers.

Maybe they don't want Brexiteer customers?

If so, mission accomplished - our refreshment money went elsewhere and I doubt we were alone.
