We could just solve the problem easily and unilaterally by providing them safe passage.

I think ideally we would provide safe passage but not publicise it. Which I recognise would be impossible nowadays.

Otherwise, migrants could be encouraged to risk more to get to places like Calais than they otherwise would. This means more risk of people smugglers and more risks of exploitation.

The last guy is genuinely upsetting.

strawberry float those people before that last one make me angry. They still can't see what's right in front of them. That UKIP guy is a scumbag.

That last guy was kinda upsetting, but its sad it's taken him until now to realise and he didn't realise ahead of time and now he's stuck feeling guilty for something that isn't his fault.

Philip rings quite a bit. He is strawberry floating nuts.

The last guy, I felt sorry for him and I still do.

Australia is weird. You kind of picture it as this laid back nation, but it is actually ultra conservative in a lot of places.

An old colleague who used to live there described the country to me as socially liberal but politically conservative. And hella racist.

You'd think they'd be more progressive on the climate given their geography and unique environment, but apparently not.

If only we'd believed in Brexit more.

I don't think it's about their rhetoric, it's the people in charge being entirely incompetent at everything. From Coronavirus response, to education, to policing and the NHS, the government are incapable of governing on any front.

I'm now convinced Brexit will be a disaster, not from the actual concept of being outside of the EU (I don't see any reason why it couldn't work under a capable government) but because this government is absolutely entirely inept at everything they do.

They will completely strawberry float it up, because Boris thinks it's WW2 and that he is Churchill, and the best way to manage any crisis is to just do it on the fly and tackle disasters as they happen, rather than try and avoid them. :fp:

I predict food prices will soar for a long time, and there will be some shortages for a few weeks, before the Government actually fixes the border. I expect them to stoke the migrant crisis when the shortages and problems happen so they can try and deflect onto the EU.

They are, of course, out of excuses.

It'd be a disaster under any government. Because it's a stupid idea.
