What's the UK's next play here then? EU taking Legal action and the UK will fight them in the courts for eons or come back to the agreement they signed up to?

I'm not sure how they can still negotiate with this situation hanging over both parties.

My guess they'll write it out when it comes back from the HOL, the UK gov has backed down on fishing so they'll get a deal with the EU so they don't really need it anymore.

Almost certainly, something breathtakingly stupid and/or illegal.

To be fair to the haunted pencil, it's the only realistic benefit from Brexit that I've heard so far.

Hopefully, with the side effect of delaying Brexit for another few decades.

He of course doesn't mention that we will be massively restricted on the amount of alcohol we can bring back with us.

Your holiday itself may cost 10 times as much but at least you can buy some cheap booze and fags at the airport! :toot:

Thing is, a lot of the idiots that voted Brexit will be delighted about that.

Not when they get back to Britain and have their duty free taken away because they broke these limits:

Alcohol allowance
How much you can bring depends on the type of drink. You can bring in:

beer - 16 litres
wine (not sparkling) - 4 litres
You can also bring in either:

spirits and other liquors over 22% alcohol - 1 litre
fortified wine (for example port, sherry), sparkling wine and alcoholic drinks up to 22% alcohol - 2 litres

You can split this last allowance, for example you could bring 1 litre of fortified wine and half a litre of spirits (both half of your allowance).

Tobacco allowance
You can bring in one from the following:

200 cigarettes
100 cigarillos
50 cigars
250g tobacco
You can split this allowance - so you could bring in 100 cigarettes and 25 cigars (both half of your allowance).

So are we looking at a no deal Brexit? It appears all negotiation has collapsed.

Its been the plan all along. Disaster capitalists will be ready to cash in next year.

Covid has made dragging the illusion out this year that much easier for Boris too.

Frost

"Disappointed by the #EUCO conclusions on UK/EU negotiations. Surprised EU is no longer committed to working "intensively" to reach a future partnership as agreed with @vonderleyen on 3 October.

Also surprised by suggestion that to get an agreement all future moves must come from UK. It's an unusual approach to conducting a negotiation.

PM @BorisJohnson will set out UK reactions and approach tomorrow in the light of his statement of 7 September."

How dare the huge trading block stick to the red lines they've made clear for years, including before the referendum

It's going to work on the Gamon though

Negotiations are about bargaining strength. We have very little compared to the EU due to its size

This was very obvious to anyone with any sense in 2016. No idea why people are acting shocked now.
