I'd be surprised if all the EU based carriers didn't do the same thing.

Like, given its a job that requires traveling back and forth to different countries of course it would be a requirement. There's literally a story in this because we're a bunch of morons as a nation.

Any idea on what’s going to happen with data roaming? Are we going to go back to having to pay ridiculous fees to use phone in EU countries?

Is probably going to depend on the carrier. Some offer Data Roaming outside the EU as well so might not change too much.

No, you're good thanks. I've seen quite enough of what you lot like to do to anyone who doesn't share the forums general political view, and none of it has been particularly pleasant. :)

I think I’ve been rather pleasant and restrained in my posts towards people that have taken away my 3 year old son’s European citizenship. Especially when those people are completely unable to come up with any reason why.

Compared to some of the unpleasantness I've read within these pages and all other political threads leading up to and after the GE perhaps, but generally I feel the overall tone found on GR paints the forums political position in no better light than those found on The Spectator etc. Unnecessarily aggressive, arrogant, smug and often followed by sneering personal attacks...hardly a welcoming platform for convincing people to your side of the debate is it?

You can't expect people to bow down and answer your questions when you're calling them a "racist banana split" just because they voted different to you.

Day after election results on this forum "I hope Boris gets cancer"

Yep I read that during a lurk...and the jeering in agreement by some members that followed.

You are not exactly improving matters, are you?

Ryanair are a shitty company, but I wonder how common this sort of requirement will be in certain industries.

Pretty sure this would have been a standardly worded requirement prior to Brexit though - like "applicant must have full driving license".

Probably. It takes on far more significance now though, unless you’re a dual citizen with an EU country, that’s a career out of bounds for you.

I know a pilot for Ryan Air. Apparently it's not much of a problem because you're working outside the customs area of that country so it's still legal. Although he was meant to move to Italy where his route is based and now he has to basically commute out there to start work everyday.

We don't need a trade deal with the EU.

Michael Gove has sparked anger after claiming the UK doesn’t “need” a post-Brexit trade deal with the EU, insisting it is better to “stand up for Britain”.

The cabinet office minister put a no-deal crash-out – at the end of 2020 – back centre-stage, despite Boris Johnson insisting the risk was “absolutely zero” during the general election campaign.

Mr Gove also claimed the current level of trade with the US proved a formal agreement was not necessary, despite a deal with Washington being a supposed prize for leaving the EU.

Interesting to wonder how long they can keep this pantomime going. I'm guessing about six months before they either start changing their tone dramatically or the markets start shitting themselves.

On the news they said all the major suppliers said that they have no plans on changing any tariffs once the UK fully leaves the EU

It's there whole game to get the best deal. Basically by screaming and threatening to take their toys home they hope to force major concessions and even if they don't they can act like they did.

They used the same tactic during the previous negotiation. It didn't work. It won't work here.

Seemingly indefinitely - there's no push back from their supporters for lying, so why stop?

Even if they agree the most subservient trade deal in the world with EU and cave everywher - they'll still being jingoistic rallying cries at home that a lapped up.
