The people that are being told not to be racist believe racism is justified though

And therefore no viewpoint or messaging indicating the positives that a non racist world brings will convert them

They don't think its racism, they think its 'immigration policy' or whatever BS they believe in.

But the point is...they believe it. And they all have a vote. You either change minds or you move towards them. Telling people off won't win votes. Showing them the damage I think is far more effective.

The damage is the point of the position they hold though. :?

Can't face watching it. :dread:

The right wing have it easy in this country in a number of ways. The media and big business being one. Another being that the Tories have no other serious right wing party competing for votes.

But they also have the massive advantage that right wing policies are just so much easier.

Things going badly? Blame foreigners and/or immigrants!

People feeling poor? Blame benefit scrounges!

The left promise good things? Tell everyone tax will rise!

It's a piece of piss. It's all easily understood, easily digestible and easily targeted at existing prejudices that people hold.

May I suggest that moment is when they are IN power?

What would that look like, practically speaking?

You keep saying "don't tell people off!" and I don't understand what you mean. Are you talking about a particular interaction you had, like, on Twitter or on here?

Amongst other things the left represents the part of the political spectrum which is against racism, misogyny, homophobia and so on. How does the left express that in a purely "positive" way? What do you actually mean?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-8732603/HENRY-DEEDES-Ed-Miliband-debates-way-goes-bacon-buttie.html#comments

So a DM article on yesterday’s debate has backfired. They’ve attempted to rip into Miliband, referencing the bacon buttie a million times but the comments section is full of people criticising Boris and supporting Ed. Is the tide turning?

No. You get the odd comment section from time to time that goes against what you'd expect of Mail readers but on the whole everything remains as it was.
