Alternatively if they are a retired boomer they may not have a social media/internet presence, which may be impossible to comprehend for people who live on twitter etc.

I've mentioned it before, but a friend of mines parents are in this situation. They've also got approximately 0 left in savings and a house that probably going to be impossible to sell. So they're well and truly up gooseberry fool creek.

Did they vote for it? Because if so :dread:

I've always assumed they did but there's a good chance they didn't bother voting. They are terrible people who totally screwed my friend over when he left the country.

I dunno if I feel bad for them or not.

They either voted for it or abstained from it. And they screwed over Lex-Man's friend.

I don't feel bad for them.

They're also massively racist they repeatedly use the p-work to describe Spanish people and complain about how few of them speak English.

They had offered to give my friend money to buy a flat but then just sold a load of his stuff without telling them and just left the UK without giving him any money.

Wow, strawberry float them then. Wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire etc. What are the odds on them coming back and begging them for help without a hint of self awareness?

I think they were trying to sound out if they could stay with him if necessary. He has two brothers but I don't think either of them talk to their parents. That's kind of how I know all this stuff as he was really angry about them asking a while ago.

Does anything confirm you're a banana split more than having three kids and none of them wanting anything to do with you?

I have a Place in the Sun on as background filler quite often. Fantastic program to get annoyed over.

'Do you speak the language?' No.
'Do you have the budget for your desired three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a pool, and a terrace with sea view?' No.
'Somehow we have found something you want and the vendor will even take 20% off the price to meet your budget.' I'll take another 20k off as I'd have to buy furniture and a car.

Half the people seems to have never even visited where they are trying to buy. Outstanding TV. Up there with Homes Under the Hammer for generating mild annoyance.

edit: Gf is watching an episode now where a couple are choosing to buy in Bulgaria, despite never being there, because 'they know a Bulgarian person back home and they are nice.' :dread:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-56777985

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has pledged to end "ludicrous barriers" to internal trade between Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

He said he would take whatever steps necessary to end barriers created by the EU Withdrawal Agreement.

But Taoiseach (Irish PM) Micheál Martin insisted the Brexit protocol was not a danger to Northern Ireland's constitutional position within the UK.

They spoke to BBC NI's Spotlight for a film on Northern Ireland's centenary.

A Contested Centenary will be broadcast on Tuesday evening and includes contributions from First Minister Arlene Foster and Deputy First Minister Michelle O'Neill.

I'm sure this won't cause any problems at all.

It only seems a few weeks ago that Johnson was claiming there were no barriers....

Exactly the clip that came to my mind :fp:

It's an offensive term used to describe people from Pakistan.

They know that Pakistan is over 4,000 miles away from Spain?

I didn't think anyone was stupid enough to use that term full stop, let alone to refer to Spanish people.
