I'm very fond of the show and sad to hear it's ending, and with a reduced run no less, but I agree; they seem to be very aware of context of a comedy cop show in the recent climate, and it's understandable they've made this decision, even if I am quite gutted.

Maybe they could become a firefighting comedy and never acknowledge the previous cop setting.

Finished Season 4 last night, show has just been getting better and better for me, going to start Season 5 tonight and see the fallout from the S4 cliffhanger

Any idea when season 8 will be out over here yet? Failing that, anywhere I can watch season 8 online

I wouldn't bother to be honest. First episode was horrible and the second was aggressively fine.

I won't go into detail because spoilers, but they handled they handled the police violence subject in about the most ham-fisted way possible.

I kind of disagree? I thought it was quite a good look at why nothing changes. I don't think it's the last we've heard of it, and it wouldn't surprise me if most of the detectives have strawberry floated off by the end of the series.

The first 5 minutes were them just listing news events from the last 12 months or so and I didn't think it improved much from there on in.

I get that they have to address it, and I'm glad they did, I just think they could have done a much better job of it.

Note: I haven't particularly enjoyed the last couple of season personally, so maybe I'm just soured on it already.

Where did you both watch them? Is it streaming somewhere? I’ve enjoyed the last few seasons so it might be one I enjoy

Just watched the finale on E4, great ending to the series sad to see it go but it was probably one of the most satisfying endings to a series I have seen especially recently. Will rewatch the whole thing again one day.
