If we've learned anything about Bungies viral marketing, it's that most of what you read is bollocks and can't be used to get any kind of hint.

I reckon the cancelling of the E3 announcement was a big PR stunt, and no one actually had any announcement, the whole thing was intended to be leaked as it was, just to let people know there could be a Halo game in development. Worked a treat, too.

I think you're right Jaxley. Why would they block an announcement for such an anticipated game?

It was the very opposite of a PR stunt. A PR stunt is designed to gain maximum positive publicity for something. The E3 Halo debacle was an utter shambles and left everyone concerned looking like idiots.

Tokyo rules are UN regulations on the internment of prisoners in a conflict environment if I remember correctly.

I wonder if the new game will be set in the Halo universe, but centre on the inter human conflicts referred to in the books etc prior to the war with the Covenant? A tactical squad based shooter maybe, with some space based ship combat too would be nice.

Dare must be a spartan, that's a Master Chief line right there.

Chief is Spartan 117, referred to as S117 or Sierra 117, so this could be S1 or Spartan 1.

Or could it be a Spartan I? The precurser to the Spartan IIs? That's entirely possible, perhaps we'll discover that Johnson was augmented at the start of the war, which'd explain why The Flood couldn't kill him and why he's such a bad-ass. I thought the Spartan 1s were from before the Covenent war though...

What do we reckon, do you think completing the vidmaster achievements unlocks an alternate ending? I assume there must be a slightly different ending as the normal one features a warthog.

Chief is floating on the ship Forward Unto Dawn at the end of Halo 3, perhaps a new ending could reveal some more about the next game.
