Sounds like a typical night out in Trowbridge.

On my work desk I have a couple of Mario and Luigi figurines from a Happy Meal event that McDonald's ran a few years ago. Most of the toys are tat, but sometimes they're awesome.

I actually remember deciding personally I didn't want to go to MacDonald's and would say so because I realised it was gooseberry fool.

strawberry float the toys as well. Make recycled plushes with easily recycled PET pellets and PE fibres or something that has a degree of longevity and comfort but making tat out of oil to peddle fake food is strawberry floating pointless.

It's great that they're doing this, but they should also address the issue that people actually take their children to these shitholes and feed them that utter gooseberry fool. What kind of parent actually chooses to feed their child that gooseberry fool? Ooo yes some type 2 diabetes and future heart problems for my bundle of joy please!

Not to turn this into a SPONSORED POST, I think criticism of McDonald’s UK in particular is a bit unfair these days considering a lot of what they serve is of a higher standard than many of the major chains...and Chicken Cottage. The eggs are free range, the milk in the coffee is organic, the coffee itself is rainforest alliance, the orange juice is Tropicana, the porridge Quaker, the beef British and Irish, pork RSPCA certified, MSC certified fish, a range of salads and fruit bags despite surely nobody going in there for either...even many of the drinks are low or sugar free.

A burger is a burger at the end of the day so there’s not much you can do about that in terms of health, but it’s not like there is a lack of choice on the menu.

My memory is sketchy, but i'm pretty sure it was a second party franchise at the time, as it was Nintendo who published the games and several were developed by Alpha Dream, who also created the Mario & Luigi titles.

I remember they had a lot of games on the Gameboy family, but I'm assuming these toys came out while the anime was being shown as well. It started out as a manga too, Idk if I'd really call it a Nintendo franchise.

Last time I got a Burger King toy, it was this Knuckles. Still have him in the attic somewhere, it was a great toy.

Please don't get rid of Burger King toys, and especially not McDonalds toys. What next, getting rid of the gifts inside in Christmas crackers?!

If you want plastic tat then I'm sure you will be able to still specifically go out and buy plastic tat, but stopping giving away so many of these things that people generally don't need or want for more than 5 seconds is a good move.

Back in my day, if you objected to a thing, you just voted with your wallet. Or if you were really savvy, set up a competitor.

The toys were quite a bit of tat, usually had a home life of a month or so round my way.

Oh, and BK have been really savvy here. They saw an opportunity to ditch the cost of toys using some kids as a simultaneous PR stunt and smokescreen for the backlash. The vocal dissenters are all going at the kids.

For the record, I am anti-toys in meals, I'm just a bit cynical about this whole process. And whoever wanted a BK kids meal anyway?

I still miss the excitement of getting a neat toy (or something else such as a collectors card) in my boxes of cereal, at one time i collected mini boglins (think they were given away in some kelloggs boxes), never did get the one i wanted though (not to mention the special super rare gold one).

It's been years since the fun police put a stop to that sort of thing.

Every time someone says "what's next?!" I always think of the 2016 US Libertarian Party debate:

There is a major difference between feeding your kids junk food every day and having junk food as a treat once in a while. McDonalds, Burger King and the like I've no problem taking my kids to once in a while. Usually when we're on our way to our hols we stop off at McDonalds or something similar. Meals on a daily basis are always home cooked.

I think it's more concerning that people are pouring gallons of coffee into their bodies on a daily basis several times a day via various coffee chains. Something me and the majority of medical staff I work with happen to agree on.
