It's actually good news. They are not contesting the decision, just the way the compensation is to be paid.

Which means they accept that their communications were misleading. That should surely destroy any case they could possibly have had.

Sounds like they are still trying to cling on to any last opportunities to be banana splits about it but yeah that is a sign that they are seeing the situation is going against them

Ombudsman must have told them to strawberry float off as I got an email from the ombudsman telling me that the banana splits have 30 days to pay me.

I've written a final letter stating that the ombudsman was fully on my side and setting out I will be taking legal action unless they either accept that the matter is settled or come up with an acceptable way to end the matter.

I've done that so I look reasonable in court/a tribunal, they'd have to come up with something spectacular for me to agree to anything they offer.

Paid my first blood sacrifice to the solicitors today

Told them to hold off actually doing anything until the chain closes though. Mortgage is going through seemingly okay but we've yet to sort our own survey - again it's pretty expensive so probably one to wait for the chain to close?

When you say chain closes, do you mean there are people in tbe chain without buyers? If so, I'd definitely hold off until that goes into place, no point rushing at this point and they are expensive like you say. Waste of money if it all falls apart...

Basically, up the chain so not without buyers but without having found a house to buy (we're first time buyers so don't have to worry about the other direction). As you say it seems like a potential waste of money to go ahead with any searches if higher up the chain don't find a house and things fall through!

The money to the solicitors won't get spent and will be refunded if nothing goes ahead so at the moment no money wasted. The mortgage broker will take their fee of 200 and something when the mortgage gets approved, but that's a one-off fee so will cover them doing it all again if they have to anyway.

Still got me on edge though

I've had a reply.

Thank you for your email.

I shall write one final letter to you and then the Landlord shall initiate Court action to recover the overdue.

strawberry float me, the ombudsman was pretty damn clear that they mislead me and they want to threaten me?

Mad isn't it.

My plan remains the same, I'll wait for the letter, reject whatever bollocks they come up with, pay them under duress and then apply to the tribunal.

Wankers.

They're probably used to dealing with people who are easily intimidated and get enough of a hit rate from this sort of thing, to keep trying it.

Yeah that's probably right.

I am very easily intimidated but I'm also a stubborn prick.

I wonder if they want to initiate court proceedings so that they control it and can threaten higher legal bills etc? Court might be a better option for them, rather than the property tribunal.

Such a bunch of banana splits.

We're looking at moving house shortly(renting), we've been in the current place for nearly three years and my wife strawberry floating despises both the flat itself and the surrounding area. We've found a four bedroom flat on the fringes of a really nice area and right next to where my brother(and more importantly, currently, Loki) lives, and we're viewing it on Friday. All the paperwork is ready to go, so if we walk in and like what we see, we can proceed pretty quickly with getting everything sorted to move. It'd be nice to have a spare room to use as office space.

Pressured to prove he's busy or keep working, Doctor Moggy prematurely logged into the GRcade Forum and vanished. He awoke to find himself in Stuff, suffering from partial amnesia and facing a avatar that was not his own. Fortunately, contact with his real life was maintained through brainwave transmissions with Al, the Line Manager, who appeared in the form of a Teams call that only Doctor Moggy can see and hear. Trapped in the 'cade, Doctor Moggy finds himself posting from thread to thread, putting people right that once were wrong and hoping each time that his next post, will be the post home.
