How many toilets is too many?
We have 4 :shifty:

Number of people in the house x2 = number of toilets

Must be nice having more than 3 rooms. Hell, at least I went above 2 rooms now.

Yeah, at first 6 bathrooms seems opulent, but once you get used to it you start to consider converting one of the garages into wetroom.

Anywhere can be a toilet if you try hard enough

Don’t think I’ll ever live anywhere with 8 toilets!

Never thought about moving house before but my wife showed me an absolute dream house nearer to my work that I think we could realistically afford. I don't think we'll actually really consider it though but now it's all I'm thinking about.

I might start putting my savings towards paying off our current mortgage instead.

Things are suddenly starting to move quickly! Everything on the legal side of things now appears to be completed, both on my sale and my purchase.

My buyer is now pushing for completion as soon as possible, my estate agent thinks he's looking to do it next week.

Which isn't likely to happen, the hold up now will be the lady I'm buying from. She'll need a little time between exchange and completion in order to find somewhere to rent. Which is a nice twist as it's been her for months pushing me to try and speed up.

But still, this might actually be happening! :datass:

That's well exciting Moggy! I really want to exchange next week too, but just waiting on one last thing. Going to chase tomorrow and see what's possible, but I think I'm being a bit too optimistic.

I don't think I'll believe it until I am actually in the new house!

Good luck with your move, looks like we're in a race as to who completes first. :toot:

I knew getting overconfident would be a mistake.

Last Friday it looked like we were heading to completion. Then bugger all happened all week, I chased my estate agent and she struggled to get in touch with my buyer's solicitor. Turns out his solicitor had left the firm and they had still not appointed a new one. Finally a new solicitor was appointed and sent this to my estate agent:

I am preparing the title report, reviewing all the enquires which have been raised and answered and preparing documents for signature

Hopefully the "title report" is the final bloody thing they have to do and there's no extra queries on the enquiries. They've had all this stuff for weeks!

People hate estate agents but I think that's unfair. Estate agents are full of gooseberry fool, but conveyancing solicitors are the worst banana splits in the world.

You're not wrong. We should have completed months ago but for the constant lying and bullshitting and inaction from our conveyancers. Then we completed a week ago and turns out they didn't get the right amount of money off the buyer so now we have no house and no money has been paid out from our conveyancers to us and trying to sort it out is so strawberry floating painful.

My mate put an offer that was accepted onto a place last July and he still doesn't have the keys. No chain on either side, no issues with any checks. The estate agents on his side, mortgage broker and solicitors on his side have all done their jobs. Its the sellers estate agents who are dragging their heels and there's no reason for it.

My mate doesn't want to take his offer away. He's in love with the place and he's already decided how he wants everything laid out and decorated. He's pissed off to the max but there's nothing he can do about it.

I'm hoping I can complete very soon, just one or two last things I need from my seller's solicitors and should be there. I thought I was being pessimistic aiming for the end of Jan and now that's going to shoot right by :x

strawberry floating solicitors :x

The latest bullshit this morning was my buyer's solicitor claiming they hadn't received the management pack. My solicitor then told them when it was sent. But now the buyer's solicitor says they are outstanding answers to a couple of enquiries.

Bellends the lot of them.

Once they get all that sorted, the buyer needs to sign and return a form or two. Then we should be good to go. But strawberry float knows how long it'll all take.

Wankers.
