strawberry float me. Just strawberry floating strawberry float me.

I've received an email from the Property Ombudsman. My case has gone to an adjudicator and he says:

I am writing to introduce myself as the Adjudicator who will be reviewing your complaint.

Please note we have been informed by xxxxx that your dispute has been settled and that you are happy with the outcome. I would be grateful if you could confirm whether this is the case.

When I have completed my review you and xxxx will be sent a letter detailing the outcome of my investigations. I hope to be able to write to you shortly, but should you have any queries in the meantime please feel free to contact me.

Genuinely not sure if it's ballsy or just incompetence.

I replied to the ombudsman giving him the true picture and pointed out that there have been a lot of complaints so the landlord might just be confused.

It's utterly insane. Assuming it's not just incompetence (always possible with these chucklefucks), what the hell did they think was going to happen? After years of fighting them I'd give up because they told a blatant lie?

Only thing I can think is that they hoped I'd not see the email from the ombudsman and so it'd be dismissed by default.

It won't. The property ombudsman has strawberry float all power.

A successful ruling from them though would give me good ammunition to threaten the landlord and if they still ignore it, then it'd give me a good basis for a legal case.

In with mortgage advisor today. Everything looks good so far, computer says yes and all that. Just gotta wait 2-3 weeks for the official verdict from Halifax on the mortgage offer in place. I might actually be a homeowner by Christmas!
