The best kept secret in men’s online fashion is M&M Direct. You can grab some right bargains on there, all proper ‘dad’ clothes as well.

If you’re in need of something smarter M&S is your friend.

If you have money to burn then I’d recommend John Lewis for some nice Barbour wear.

I missed the name change so had him down as someone completely new. The portmanteau name also reminded me of the forumite formerly known as Suzzopher, who I think is a little bit older than me. I found out a couple of months ago that TMag=Zilnad but in my head I still haven't made the link

Most of my clothes are from Next, Gap, Burton, H&M, and Uniqlo. I also have the odd few bits from Gant, Ralph Lauren, All Saints, and John Lewis.
I tend to look after my clothes pretty well and so still have some from years ago, but they don't look old or well-worn. I also find it difficult to find clothes that really fit well, so once I do, I tend to buy multiples of the same item in different colours.

You have to realise though that the above was partly in jest. Partly.

Jesus man  I'd forgotten about that.

I used to shop at asos, charity shops can also be a shout (including donating your old clothes to them).

Nowadays I have a designer outlet store near me so I wear Karl lagerfeld and gooseberry fool :shifty:

I've gotten quite into matching outfits the last year, think it's a pleasure men often deprive ourselves of whereas for many women it's a given. The workwear guy on twitter is really good for inspiration.

This Varsity style jacket was something I grabbed myself recently.... I don't tend to pay a lot for clothes or go nuts but I just needed it... Actually grabbed a few new items yesterday and have looked at some more stuff but its because I have been dieting and might treat myself when I manage to drop a little bit

I like it, personally would wear a plain t shirt underneath so the eye doesn't get distracted by so much going on but it looks really cool. Looks like it suits your style.

Returning it all. Absolute gooseberry fool show. Nothing fits right even though it's all the same sizes as my other clothes.

There are a few brands that I love and that fit me perfectly, but they're a bit expensive. So I wait for the two mid-season sales on either their online stores or somewhere like End Clothing and pick up a bunch of stuff - usually the same shirt/t-shirt but in different colours. They're never heavily branded, just well made and fit me well. My wife orders from many labels (or uses Stitch Fix) and ends up sending back a lot of stuff by comparison because so many labels have different ideas for sizing, but I never have this issue.

So, for me:

T-shirts - Velva Sheen, APC
Shirts - NN07 only
Trousers - NN07 only
Shoes - New Balance/APC

For lounging around the house, I just buy plain t-shirts in different pack of colours.

Jeans, I tend to go for Levi's as they last you years as well.

Trainers, i've been rocking different styles of Sketchers, super comfy and hard wearing.

If anyone seriously needs good quality blank T-shirts, contact me.

They're about £4.50 including VAT at wholesale or as low as around £2.20. That's a £36.50 / 370% mark-up from Superdry even on a bundle deal and I'm assuming a bit of embroidery or a screen print that's pulled and cured in under 20 seconds. I strongly suspect their actual direct cost for the T-shirt is closer to the £2 or lower depending on what factory they contract and how they protect their workers (they don't). Bought individually, well, there you go.

I'll just neck label them with GRCADE if you want the added value.

Or if you find some monochrome SVG file on the internet and can pay a few quid then fine go with that. Or send the money straight to a giant conglomerate that's basically burning the earth alive.

The (white British, not Japanese) founders of Superdry have a combined equity of 450 million and in 2019 Superdry had almost 1 billion pounds in revenue in that year alone.

I'm one of those guys that hasn't bought my own clothes and has been wearing the same wardrobe for years. But everything is wearing out and I'm in dire need of some style.

Where is the best place to order clothes online? Honestly, I have no idea if I should be using places like Topman/Debenhams or if that's all tat and I should be using something else.

I'm absolutely pathetic

Aren't you in your 30s? How?

I'm trying more and more to avoid "fast fashion" brands, even if realistically, most non fast fashion brands are still only really sustainable because of existing production practices and supply chain infrastructure as a result of fast fashion being so prevalent. And my job also involves shipping fast fashion clothing items. A good alternative is to buy second hand/thrift products. Alternatively, items you know will last with care.

I recently got back into raw denim jeans again, basically jeans that are dyed, but unwashed, so they're a uniform dark indigo to begin with, and they fade with wear, so they arrive to you with the least pre-treatment, prolonging their lifespan and reducing the water consumption in production. They're then supposed to mould to you as you wear them and break them in, and the eventual fades that come with washing will reflect how you wear them and the stress you put them through. There's a large part of the "denimhead" community who will swear you should go as long as possible without washing jeans for the best fades, but this is incompatible with having a young child, and also reduces the lifespan of the jeans because all the dirt that builds up eventually damages the fabric.

With that in mind, I'd recommend sticking with 100% cotton for most of your clothing choices. While some Elastane might make things feel a bit more comfortable with stretch, they tend to degrade faster as the elastane can break down, especially if you put them in a tumble dryer, and in my experience, elastane also begins to smell after a long while, and it's really hard to get out properly.

This is all 100% correct thinking.

I found myself bored whenever my fiancee was browsing through charity shops, so I researched brands online to find those that suit my style the most, costing more than I'd like to pay new and have put together a list and crack it out whenever I'm in one.

This year, I've bought White Stuff, SuperDry, Ted Baker, Lee and Tommy Hillfiger tops and I've paid no more than a tenner for any of them. The last shirt I bought for £8 was for sale new for literally ten times that. I could have nabbed loads more, but I only buy second hand if it's a brand I'm keen on, a design I really like and in great condition. Top tip - travel to the fanciest town nearby. The charity shops there will have the best bargains.

If you don't want to spend your time browsing charity shops and want a bargain, Vinted is your online equivalent. 'New with tags' is an option if you're not so keen on pre owned. You'll buy the odd dud, but when you're paying so much below retail, that's fine!

For trousers and jeans it's a whole different story!

Most online clothing sellers dpop etc are even worse than ebay and mostly kids etc but this is also correct.

I'm currently dieting as hard as I can right now, been on a diet 8 days and as my Misses is on a special medical diet for another 11 weeks I'm going to aim to continue dieting for an equal length of time, if it goes well I might contact you about this when all my stuff's baggy.

As for my self, I wear mostly vintage, second hand, ex/dead stock, wholesale workwear, and my own T-shirts which are also just wholesale and identical to anything you might be branded with the label ripped out or made in the same factories (hilariously sometimes they literally sew a label over the manufacturer's one), and a bit of Uniclo from several years ago and a few even older ones from when I visited Japan (on big discounts and games etc I like, small embroidery, pocket print, not all over massive prints etc). I can count on one hand the bits I have from M&S or Next and lots of old shirts Fat Face / White Stuff that I basically never wear any more except for formal occasions.

I might go back to smart/casual, so have recently got a polo from Stanley/Stella wholesale, but I also wear two varsity jackets also from wholesale. I prefer understated clothing or bold colours when I feel like it. Tbh, it's nice that basically nobody else has the clothes I put together myself from unfiltered options and if I want no branding at all.

Here are some great imprint brands.

Streetwear/casual

https://www.stanleystella.com/en-gb/

https://www.independenttradingco.com/

https://www.bellacanvas.com/

http://www.bc-collection.eu/en

https://www.buildyourbrand.de/en/index

Workwear

https://www.resultclothing.com/

https://www.kustomkit.com/

And about 7,000 other things.

The caveat? No returns, buy a measuring tape.

Maybe your other clothes have stretched a bit? They do that to trick you into thinking you aren't getting old.

Anyway, I only ever buy T-shirts online because I know if something didn't fit me, I probably wouldn't send it back and feel bad about it.

I take my eldest daughter clothes shopping with me, she actually likes shopping so it's good support.

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.
