Something I've been considering for a while.

I just don't enjoy this place anymore

I've been here from day 1 and enjoyed chatting about games and contributing with new threads etc and have even made some friends I enjoy playing online with.

Lately I've not been buying/playing games barring the odd big AAA title and, when I do, they seem to be games that no one here discusses.

I also feel that the forum is dying, no one's taking it on themselves to create threads for big games and I feel like I have to do it myself.

I feel like I just post on here out of habit now, because it's something I've just done for the last decade.

I think Maf banning me from the Cyberpunk thread (one of the few games I am excited about tipped me over the edge)

So, this is goodbye, hopefully no hard feelings (Photek etc).

Like I said, being banned from the Cyberpunk 2077 thread was the last straw for me.

I put effort into keeping up to date and a few posts out of line and I'm banned from it.

I'll admit some of it was borderline xenophobic, but to be called an out and out racist and then to be banned just tipped me over the edge.

I see it this way.

1. Either what I said WAS Racist, which means the ban was justified and I've well and truly shat the bed with my reputation on this forum.

2. Or I wasn't Racist meaning that we have a problem with the moderation of this board which I simply can't abide by anymore.

Hmmm, it was a little more than just borderline.

You’re somebody that has come a long way from previous views but I don’t think you’re quite there yet.

Take a break, have a think and hopefully come back having progressed a little further.

Yep, perhaps just take a short break. I've done this in the past and I always feel better for it. Sometimes it's just for an hour; occassionally a few days. It helps.

Just a suggestion - if you find yourself getting into an argument that's "contentious", try to just walk away from it. In that scenario, things quickly escalate and it is possible that meanings become a little twisted; on both sides of the argument. I've been in that situation once or twice here in GR before and I am trying to avoid those sorts of incidents now.

This is a factual statement. My life is a nightmare that will never end and nobody can comprehend the suffering and hardship my status causes me on a daily basis.
