In what way? They look like the real things.

It's the positioning on the screen. They come up too close to the middle and end up looking crap. It's a small point, but every CoD has had it (in particular the Treyarch ones) and it pisses me off so much.

The beta hasn't started, they're not going to send you an email to redeem something that probably hasn't been uploaded to Live yet.

Just calm down, the beta is due to live this month. I'm sure someone will post the info when Acti/Treyarch announce the beta has gone live.

It doesn't matter if the beta hasn't started yet, they're sending out codes which allow access to the beta website which is already up and running.

And I'm only so eager to get this code so I can cancel my pre-order as soon as possible.

Eurogamer giving out some Beta keys soon:-

Thousands of COD X360 keys soon

Eurogamer is happy, historically sensitive and proud to announce that we will soon have thousands of beta keys for Call of Duty: World at War on Xbox 360 to give away. (Yes, we're reinforcing the servers first.)

That's because Activision remembers you all for your spectacular devotion to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and wants to reward it. At least, that's the way we like to think about it, although we suspect the real decision probably involved words like "bespoke", "convergence" and "segmentification".

The beta will launch this month, we've previously been told, although how long it will last and what you'll be able to do on it have yet to be announced.

We're also told that you will be guaranteed access to the beta if you pre-order the game from GAME in the UK, and that you can do this right now. The full thing is due out on Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii, PS2 and DS from14th November.

Why in the world do we need a "beta" of the fifth version of a game which has had an online mode from the start?

Stupid marketing gooseberry fool as usual - it's going to get to the point where games which really do need public playtests before release will see no interest because "beta" is so common. :fp:

But the core structure of multiplayer section is different across all the games so each needs to be tested seperately. They've always done this just now more companies are holding public betas as opposed to closed ones.
