You can play with up to five players on LIVE.

So, as we're a few months down the line now, how do the people still playing this think it compares to COD4 online? As good? Better? Worse?

I've barely touched it since I completed the single player and did a bit of co-op. Not even multi.

Not as good as COD4. But still the second best multiplayer fps on LIVE. (Yes, I'm one of those who loathe Halo).

I would say starting off it's slightly worse than COD4 MP because the later weapons (bouncing bettys and STG etc) you can get are better and you dont start with a level playing field. But after youve built up some experience I would say COD4 and CODW@W MP games are on a par.

I would say the single play in CoD4 slightly edges it.

But on-line play I think WaW edges it. OK you do start from an uneven keel, weak weapons, lame perks etc. But once you start to level up, you get better weapons (level 37 STG) this game comes into it's own. This game rewards you if you put the effort in, trust me it's worth it! :D

Plus Nazi Zombies are ace!

So all in all, I'd call it even.

I got a copy recently and I was suprised how decent it is (not liking CoD3). It shows how professional both CoD teams are at creating games.

I am over competative online nowadays so I am impressed with the anarchic co-op. The Nazi Zombie mini game is ok, but only for a few blasts.

any lamb of god (band) fans here? came across this.

John Campbell (bassist of LoG) - "He is also the self-described "gamer of the band". He will be logging into a created XBOX 360 Live account of February 14, 2009 to play Call Of Duty 5: World at War with some fans. The live account ID to add is LoG GwF." - from wiki

I don't have the game on 360 unfortunately.

Cheers bud! Nice. :D

Though I'm not that much of a fan of Makin (too dark in places) this might improve the level for me.

I play this, Halo3 and Left4Dead almost every night. This is my most played. I prefer it to CoD4 because of the map size being much bigger and the inclusion of my fave FPS game type, Capture The Flag.

Finished this on Hardened earlier today. The last two levels were some of the most infuriating I've ever played. I managed to do Semper Fi on Veteran and now have to see if i can be bothered to do the rest.

You need to be stubborn as fuk to complete it on veteran... sometimes no mater how well you play your gonna die to sheer amounts of grenades. I am a stubborn mule so I put in the hours :)

I've done the first two missions on Veteran now. I haven't encountered any problems with grenades. Yet.

Vendetta is chapping my hide at the moment.

I'm trying to crawl through the burning building and up the stairs but Gary strawberry floating Oldman keeps blocking my way and I wind up dead. Even if I do get up the stairs I'm greeted by about 4 grenades on the floor.

That bit is a bit of a bitch. The idea is after youve crawled, run past gary oldman and lead the way yourself, try and have a look at you tube videos for the way to go. After the crawl pop the man in the window, run to the left towards the stairs (get in front of G O now), pop the other german in the window and run up the stairs and keep running all the way and hope you dont get shot.
