It was decent. Some hit reg issues, Miami map was a bit gooseberry fool and the quick scoping was insane.

The increased TTK was nice as well. The engine isn't as good as MW2019 though and the animations were worse.

Map design was good and the new gunsmith also kicks ass.

Was this ever available on sale at Amazon UK? Because I just went looking for it and it’s not available on all systems, which is rather odd.

Weird. Maybe it’s been cancelled.

A couple of nights I did a search and didn't find it, and then I did another search and it was there! (one was Call of Duty Cold War the other PS5 games). But I didn't preorder. Now it's gone completely so I don't know the reason why they don't want it live.

Only had a brief go on the open beta. Seems decent. Gunplay is good. Movement is nice and smooth. Maps are good (what ive played).
Its open again on Thursday for all PS4 owners and Xbox pre orders.
I tried to pre order on amazon. Could find it for the ps4 or ps5.

I thought the beta was supposed to open for everyone this weekend. Still showing as unavailable for me to even download it.

EDIT: Seems like I have to wait until 6pm. And then download 24GB. So much for a “weekend” of access.

Next weekend is open for everyone. The staggered times have been a pain in the arse as has the fact you cant pre install it unless you've pre ordered.

The same good things and bad things are there. Some great maps and modes. Doesn't look as good as modern warfare but its lobbys are better - although still bloody twitchy. 30 minutes the other day with no game in sight.

I've enjoyed it but it may actually be the first cod I don't buy at launch. Simply put. It isn't as good as warzone. Which is free. I may well spend the money elsewhere when the PS5 comes.

The multiplayer is better than MW but the SBMM is a pure joy killer.

I've a digital preorder for the cross gen version. Mainly for zombies and single player tbh.

I've hated the beta, controls feel alot more clunky compared to MW, weapon levelling is a massive grind to the point it's not enjoyable, and some of the maps (Miami especially) are too big for 6 v 6.

After playing days of MW can't help feel a bit dissapointed in this. Also some of the netcode is awful, the amount of times i was being shot round corners when in the killcam i was apparently bang in front of the person was ridiculous.

They've unlocked all the weapon attachments for the last couple of days for the Beta. Game feels much better now as weapons feel much more responsive. Still not as good as MW and like Denster said it's not warzone so it's nowhere near that level. Probably will skip this.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War's Zombies Onslaught mode is a 12-month PlayStation exclusive

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2020 ... -exclusive

Absolutely ridiculous, for a game that has a 12-month shelf-life.

Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War comes to PS4 and PS5 on 13th November 2020.

Slightly less Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War comes to Xbox One, Series X/S, and PC on the same day.

The beta started off bad but by the 2nd weekend it was pretty decent I have to say. Much better than the abomination that is modern warfare.

Expect to see much more of this type of bollocks as the generation rolls on.

So it isn't the usual zombies mode, but a new take on it. The usual zombies mode is there for everyone day one it seems.

I'm not too bothered personally - never gelled with the zombies modes.

The storage space requirements have been announced by Activision:

PlayStation 4: 95GB
PlayStation 5: 133GB
Xbox One: 93GB
Xbox Series X|S: 136GB
PC: 35 GB (Multiplayer Only) / 82GB (Full Game) / 125GB (Full Game on Ultra Graphics)

That's a pretty hefty chunk of space for the next gen systems. Apparently there will be the ability to uninstall certain game modes but the space savings have not yet been shared.

More lardy promotions 4 the gamers:

Activision and their "Call of Duty" franchise team up with Mountain Dew and Papa John's

To celebrate the launch of hit videogame "Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War" on Sony PlayStation and Microsoft XBox, Activision is launching two entwined promotional campaigns with Mountain Dew and Papa John's pizza.

Mountain Dew is running a 13-week on-pack promotion across 500ml bottles of Mountain Dew Citrus Blast (£1.54) and Mountain Dew No Sugar (£1.39).

Image

Consumers will be able to redeem double XP points with every purchase of participating packs, which will “enable faster in-game progression for gaming fanatics and an additional sales opportunity for retailers” all while enjoying a lovely Limited Edition battle-ready bottle of Dew.

Image

At Papa John's, anyone who orders the "Call of Duty MEGA XP Payload Bundle" until 31st December 2020, which comprises any large pizza, a classic side, chicken side & small bottle of thirst quenching Mountain Dew for £21.99, will each receive a code via email providing a gift of one of three in-game items, to a maximum of three in-game items.

Each code will also feature a gift of 1 token of 2XP each which doubles the experience points awarded for 30 minutes within public online multiplayer matches. Max 1 hour 2XP redeemable per person, per day and 40 hours per person across all promotions.

I guess the Mountain Dew is also there to wash down the GOD-AWFUL taste of their strawberry floating GARLIC KNOB SAUCE.
