we got some Batchelors Super Noodles (Curry flavour) delivered from Tesco earlier (don't judge OK, I like 'em!) and the packets are emblazoned with CoD Cold War. Didnt fully read the tiny small print but seems to be similar or the same as Papa J's - saw limit of 3 ingame per account and 600k of something or other.

I ain't rushing to get the game so probably expire without me using them.

I'll take them off your hands :)

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Yeah I got it.

Played a few hours of zombies last night and it seems much harder than I remember. Maybe I'm just gooseberry fool now.

Haven't touched MP yet but I enjoyed the beta so can imagine it should be decent. I have heard some people complaining about the hit reg though.

Oh and the servers were awful last night. Classic COD launch.

Ill probably get it on payday. Week after ps5 launch. Still loving warzone so it'll have to be decent to get me off that.

I skipped MW, but I might jump in on this, to see it next-genified.

Amazing how CoD has fallen from grace on here, though. Not a single post on launch day. It used to be so busy.

there's a 20% off code on eBay just now so I'm tempted to use that to get it.

Really enjoying the campaign for this. There's quite a lot fo variety in missions (I've just finished one which played out a lot like Hitman).

Managed to sell Cold War on eBay for more than I paid for it. :datass:

Got about an hour and a half to do of the Campaign today and that's it (I peg it at around 5 hours, including the optional side missions).

Yeah, I enjoyed that one as well.

It's a stealth mission set in the KGB, very much like a first person Hitman. Unusually for COD, there's quite a lot of replay value there too for those that want it (on the surface there's multiple ways to get the key card - I went for the guy offing the bloke in the interrogation room).

Criticisms the same as last year; less to do with the story mode itself, more that the game is yet again plagued by technical issues at launch (it's twice killed my PS5) and INSANE installation sizes.

I only really want it for the campaign so I'm waiting for a steep drop to £25-£30

Well. I feel like a complete Muppet. Despite purchasing on my Series X, I think I've managed to buy the Xbox One version. Not only that, but it hard crashes every time I play. Can't see a way to upgrade to Series X and will now have to wait to be refunded. As someone relatively in the know about these things, I expect I'm not the only one to have done this. Idiotic that this could happen.

Due to Activision being Activision, if you buy the Xbox One version, you can't upgrade to the Series X version.

Edit: Ignore that. Apparently the digital Xbox One version can be upgraded via the Microsoft store for £5.

Thanks for the reply. I tried searching for an upgrade but couldn't find one so sent a refund request so will have to wait until that's approved before purchasing again (the game has been removed from my library). What a bunch Activision are.

Worth noting the Campaign has at least 2 endings, with an additional level you’ll miss if you don’t play it again, so it’s worth replaying twice. The save point however means you’ve got a substantial chunk of it to play again (from Cuba onwards). The concluding levels, while very good the first time due to the ‘WTF is going on here?’ nature of it, are a bit repetitive to have to play all over again though.

On a positive note, Microsoft have quickly refunded my money which seems fair enough considering the game was actually broken in back compat mode. I'll have to wait till next weekend to play this now when I'll redownload it. Surely some of the stupidest branding I've ever seen.

I'll look forward to playing this then - even the One version looks incredible.

My X version has hard crashed twice tonight during the Campaign resulting in the whole console switching off (but the controller staying lit). That’s 3 times in total and I’m only on the 4th mission I think!

Buggy piece of gooseberry fool

Same on PS5, so there’s clearly something very wrong with the game. It’s been patched at least twice too and yet somehow they’ve missed the most cataclysmic of errors.

I would avoid it for a while. Reports that the game has been bricking Series X consoles.

Got this for free with my new graphics card. Having not played a CoD since MW2 on the 360:

- the campaign is awful, and straight up fascist in its portrayal of American supremacy (and yes, I know about the ending. That's some straight up coward gooseberry fool and doesn't explain away the rest of it). The Vietnam section is genuinely nauseating.

- the shooting...is crap? Coming from Destiny where, you know, you can actually see where you're shooting and if you're hitting anything this just feels floaty and random

- the set pieces are very impressive

- it looks nice on occasion.
