Got an LG28lb490u TV in our kitchen. This evening when my wife was watching TV it threw a massive wobble and ended up in a bootloop. Can't get to any menus. To my knowledge there was no recent firmware update but can't get to menu to do a factory reset or anything.

I don't like throwing out tech if I can avoid it (spent half an hour queueing for the tip earlier this week :dread:) and I am quite happy to try software fixes for stuff like TVs and phones etc, but should I just cut my losses? The replacement TV we've got our eye on is £212.

Have seen fixes online ranging from "rollback the firmware" to "you need to replace circuit boards". If it's the latter of those it can quite literally get in the bin!

This guy says he fixed his LG TV boot loop by slapping it. :slol:

worth a try if you're close to chucking it away! :toot:
