Nope, other way round. You'd go ahead with the arranged interview, and only agree to reschedule with the ill candidate if the other one wasn't viable for the position.

So what, you'd tell them when they ring that you might be happy to reschedule but you'll let them know later?

I'd email them saying something along the lines of you're not well but still happy to attend. If they offer to reschedule then at least you know they're genuinely interested in hiring you, if they don't then maybe it's not worth your time.

It also depends how much you want the job, it's all well and good saying they're not worth working for if they won't reschedule but if it's your dream job in a competitive field with you and the other candidate being equally good then it might be worth trying to get through it. I don't think you should have to do that but it might be the reality of the situation.

Good news everyone, my fever has broken and I think I’m going to be OK enough to attend tomorrow regardless - but thank you all for the advice! Now I just have to get the job :slol:
