Yas! Winner.

Thanks for running it. Told y'all Pacman was evil after mcjihgez was killed.

Glad I made it to the end, thought my number was up when me and Dayumchris were up for the lynch. RIP D-Chris, wrongfully killed in crappy circumstances.

Were there any outcomes to the found meat event that wouldn't have resulted in new cannibals and the names mixing up, be honest now.

Ironhide had previously said via PM "So, who do you guys think is the seer? I think it's either Jawa or Hyperion" and I didn't trust myself to know what the hell I was doing so I just went off that :)

It's a weird feeling switching sides in these games, you don't feel any strong allegiance to either side that way. I'm not saying I didn't try to play my role, I absolutely did, and enjoyed doing so, but it was always in the front of my mind that this was "just" a game. To me it was more important to do something interesting or fun than to just let the game play out predictably.

I was also dead against relying on the diminishing probability of the omnivores always choosing a clue for the wrong cannibal. I loved the letter clue system but with where the pieces were in those last stages I didn't see much hope.

The outcomes to that day's event were:

DECISION:

Eat the human meat today: 1 Cannibal kill at end of phase.
Refuse to eat today: 2 Cannibal kills at end of phase.

EVENT:

Ration the stores of human meat: 1 extra Cannibal created.
Freely distribute the stores of human meat, first-come-first-served: 2 extra Cannibals created.
Burn the stores of human meat: 2 extra Cannibals created, Cannibaltar shuffles.

I just want to say in all honesty that we genuinely didn't make any game mechanics up as we went along. We basically ad-libbed the fluff and 'plot', and sometimes we swapped an event with its neighbour (I mean day phase / night phase) based on things like how busy we were vs. how much time they took to type up. Oh, and to an extent we took mercy on Lagamorph: our original notes didn't say what happened if only two people mixed their potions rather than all three. The original intent was that Laga would have to expend his Potion of Invulnerability to cure his poisoning. But we figured, hey, you guys basically solved the puzzle correctly, and it would have been quite harsh to kill Laga off just because Satriales was at work ( :slol: ).

Having said that, though, I was surprised that Ironhide (Cannibal) didn't simply play dumb, act offline, and not save Laga - he knew he wasn't Cannibal.

@ Diabolito - yeah, as Karl says, there was always going to be a new Cannibal added, but we thought that was only even after a new Seer had been added in an earlier event.

It's interesting to hear you say that - your boldness in the late stages surprised Karl and myself, as we thought if you'd kept your head down you might have made it. All the clues the omnivores got, they never once picked your name!

That said, it's hard for us to make proper judgements as we forget we have literally all the information, so it's impossible for us to view it from a player perspective knowing exactly what you do know and don't know at any given point.

With that in mind I must say one player who I thought was impressive, and whose name was infuriating to spell throughout :x , was mchjicge2 (or whatever he's called ;) ) Considering he had no special role he kept making good posts, was very clever to correctly protect Errkal when he had his one-night witch-doctor reward, and he was unlucky to be buddied with Pacman, which essentially meant Pacman had to kill him. (To clarify; I PM'd mcjhige to inform him his buddy was a Cannibal, but after he'd been Cannibal-killed - just as I PM'd someone else to inform them their buddy was a Seer, only when their buddy actually seered somebody. But I felt I best let mchjice know in case he was brought back to answer questions for the Communion event.)

I know Karl referred to our spreadsheet earlier but to any prospective future gamerunners, I don't know how I'd have done it without one. I was following it religiously! Karl, to be fair to him, managed fine without constantly referring to and updating it, but then he is much cleverer than me - but that's to be expected from a former child genius-turned-GLaDos-cum-Voldemort ;)

Any chance we could have a gander at it? I'd be interested to see how the game played out in other areas.

I was attempting to avoid suspicion and thought it was a good idea at the time.

My initial thought was to keep quite about having the potion but when I learned it was useless on its own I decided to appear helpful - I had hoped the incomplete potion would simply kill Laga but alas.

Also, I chose the 1st option in the 'meat eating' event as the wording made it sound like the Leader/Mayor would get accused of being a cannibal for "storing the meat in their room" - I ended up missing the deadline and option 3 happened instead.

How that worked was, it would be democratic between options 1 and 2, but if anyone voted for 3 then 3 would happen. 'Cause you'd need consensus to either ration the food or distribute it, but any nutter (Devlin!) can go do arson by himself. ;)

Hello! :D

So was it a total coincidence I got turned into a cannibal at that point? Like totally RNG?

It was genuinely 100% RNG. I couldn't believe it when it happened.

I definitely misunderstood my chances as being much lower than they actually were and panicked. It was very silly, no defending that.

I have been thinking about it and I think there could be something cool in the moving wrong'un thing.

I wouldn't be able to do it I dont have the patients or imagination to come up with all this, but something along the lines of a jar thing containing evil spirits that gets opened and a spirit comes out possessing one person, each day you vote to lynch and with what weapon there would be one to start with and you may collect more / upgrade. The weapon impacts the odds of the spirit returning to the spirit jar or moving to a new person. The spirits could multiple over the game based on events and that effects the jar, it must always be held by the lynchee and there is a low % chance of it being dropped possesing everyone and the game is over with no winner, if however a possessed holds it the odds are higher it is a drop the currently possessed win.

Effectively the aim of the game is to get the spirits back in jar, and the possessed is to live to the end as there are no spirit kills.

It is a messy idea but dunno may be fun :D

Thanks, I tend to try to play these games as honestly, logically and transparently as possible. I think its more of a testament to the conception and execution of this game. The format of this game with the many events lent for the allowance discussion to to be in thread rather than among the usual cliques that inevitably form.

One increasingly common feature of these games are the initial destruction by the bad guys of the usual 'suspects'. Parksy, Drumstick, Sykes et al will be lucky to survive the first day far past the first day of these games. Hopefully a mechanism like this that shows that the game should be played inthread rather than by PM, can put a stop to thier early elimination from future games.

Just seen I never answered this. He picked you. Which was the smartest move (the only smart move, really!) available to him at the time.

Also if nobody else has comments or questions, I think this one's ready for the Big Thread Folder in the Sky*.
